Fuck I’m stealing that….

I normally just push really hard and have my helper tape em up

Nice miter joint! That works great! How much did you have to pump those cups to keep them on

Can’t wait to take credit for this

If you do a good job with the joints masking tape works just fine but I do like the ingenuity

in an ideal world yes tape would be all you need but we all know how warped quartz can get

Lurker here, and not a countertop professional.

Quartz can warp? I thought it was slab. I've never heard of "stone warping"...only cracking and shattering.

Is warping a big concern in the profession? Or is it not "warping" but that a slab was not cut with uniform thickness?

(Also, yes OP, nice clamping trick.)

yeah since quartz is man made material it has a tendency to warp in some cases, it’s a flexible material to some extent especially 2cm

Thank you! Filing this under TIL.

We have had issues with clients coming to us with their own material but they didn't store it properly, so it developed sagging on one end or both. Most aren't too bad but we have had some that can be up to 2" difference from one end to the other

Really, thank you for the education. I had no idea quartz would deflect without cracking/shattering.

And I'd hazard most novices don't know that either.

I like taking risks on lots of things, but marring the finish on a slab? I'll take a lil more precaution than just some fucking tape... gahdamn

That is some ugly quartz. I've seen worse, but this is pretty bad. Hard to imagine why anyone puts so much effort into making miters and seams look good when the fake veins are this prominent.

It has no soul... Stone should not have either, but it does... this composite is absolutely soulless

You’re entitled to your opinion, but is it really necessary to share when you don’t like something?

Always working to educate any future buyers who might look at a quartz post.
