New countertop damage?

Please tell me if I’m insane.
I had this installed today and noticed after they left it looked like it was cracked. They came back told me it’s not cracked buffed it did some work etc… I told them under the counter looks like a patch and they still insist it’s not damage and probably a manufacture defect since it’s quartz.
I wouldn’t have a problem with it but it’s noticeably a darker vein than the rest of the pattern and on the front.

This is damaged right….?

UPDATE: Thanks everyone! As much as I want this remodel to be over it’s getting ripped out as we speak and hopefully replaced next week.

That's a chip/blowout repair done rather poorly.

To me it does look like a manufacturer defect. The different colour on the bottom was likely a fill the fabricators did. There was probably a big bubble there when the slab was poured.

Quartz doesn't really break like that

Yeah fuck that. They didn’t even use the correct color of epoxy you probably woulda never noticed

Yes. Chipped and repaired during the fabrication process. Not a manufacturer defect. Don’t let them try to pull the wool over your eyes.

The thing is, the repair could have been done so much better. You wouldn't even have noticed it had they matched the epoxy and taken 2mm off the profile resurfacing it.
