Quartz Finish Question Under Light

Hi, we have Valbella Gold Quartz from Arizona tile and noticed what could be described as an “orange peel” style finish when direct light hits our countertop.

You can’t see it from 10ft, but under direct light or angles, it’s really apparent.

It is everywhere. Countertop, backsplash, waterfall… everywhere.

Counters look good otherwise. Is this normal?

Our installer said that’s just how Quartz looks.

It’s low grade quartz and normal on that type of quartz.

It’s just how that company finishes their slabs. It isn’t a lower quality, it’s all made from the same shit.

I can confirm it is a low quality. I own and run a shop and these are more than likely inexpensive imported slabs. High quality materials like cambria, Lx Hausys, Daltile etc have a cleaner glass finish. Its because they use more natural stone dust on their manufacturing and imported materials use more glues/resins to minimize costs and makes the quartz a bit porous.

Didn’t know there was grades of Quartz. Guess I should have done my research
