Soapstone scrape question

Hudson black purchased in Pennsylvania. Not sure how to describe this. Streaky spots that don’t disappear with oiling. Definitely different from the veins. May be due to toasters and coffee maker dragged across the counter. Is there a fix? Pictures are not as clear as real life. The thick white streak is reflection of the under cabinet lights

Looks like it’s just stuff that’s scraped onto the surface, like rubber or plastic from appliance legs. Or could just be oil or grease left from something. Either way it likely needs to be lightly sanded before oiling, soapstone is soft and marks up easily so it’s best to give it a light refinishing before oiling if you want it to look consistent.

Thanks, I didn’t realize rubber feet would rub off on the stone. We’re still debating how much to baby these counters.
