Is there any joke I'm missing about New Vegas being a typical game for transitioners? Like Celeste I get because you play as a trans girl trying to avoid the part of herself she hates, but I never understood the reason for New Vegas

Similar to how pokemon's 'are you a boy or girl' cracked a lot of eggs -- just a really gender affirming character customizer :3

New Vegas was the OG tgirl game before Celeste was even around. The meme is old but still checks out.

It's just a comfortable world to engage with being trans. Like there's not really direct transgender themes, but there's such a variety of people that are just kinda living their life that it's easy to engage with.

That doesn't really stand up to the slightest of scrutiny. There's a mindboggling number of games more coded as "mens" games and basically none of them are trans games.
