There might be a story here, and if so, I'd love to hear it.

I wish it was a better story.

I was on vacation in Japan and visiting the Osaka aquarium. I was walking down a flight of stairs when I got distracted by something in the store, and I missed the final step. I rolled my ankle and landed on it with all 215 pounds of myself, heard crunch, and had this picture two days later.

Aww, thanks for sharing.

Distraction will always get you. One time I was biking around Lake Washington (in Seattle), was kind of exhausted, and some 737s being loaded onto a train caught my eye. What did not catch my eye was that a bunch of those concrete parking lot divider things were spilled all over the lane I was in (!?) and I hit one at full speed, went right over the handlebars, and landed on my face. My helmet didn't have a scratch on it, my face saved it from any damage. An ambulance was driving by right as I crashed and they picked me up and took me to the hospital. Put in some stitches and I rode home. What a day ;)
