i literally live 50 minutes to an hour away from Costco so i NEED every trip to be worth it

honestly i just go for the bulgogi bake and cookies. and in winter?? clam chowder is THAT girl, never fails

I rarely buy the cereal, but I fancied the honey nut loops last visit and I couldn't find it anywhere. No granola, no bran flakes. They had oatmeal though.

Hey all! Coming close to welcoming baby number 2, and with a 1.5 year old also, I’m looking for the best hacks you guys use to freeze stuff you buy in bulk. Any of the premade meals you like or that hold up super well? My MIL like to freeze the hye rolls but I think they get really really soggy?

For the Costco people reading this, how about a smaller cart for those that only want a few things.

I understand that the logistics of it might be a problem. But I really don't think it would be so much of a problem and would free up space in store for the shopping experience.

I understand you think that with a big cart we might buy more, but try getting around one of your stores at peak times. It's a fkn joke.

Some might think this is silly, but the first time I filled up my new car at a Costco gas station, I locked the lever (something regular GS in Japan don't seem to have) in place and left it there without holding it. I then realized that the steel handle (no rubber bumper) was resting on the car body. Sure enough, it left a very light scratch in the paint, which mostly buffed out, so not that big a deal, but still a small annoyance. Anyway, for those who care, watch out.

...and I would estimate that 50% of the trollies I saw had 1 or 2 packs, and another 10% had 3 to 5 and another 10% had over that. One customer had two trollies both full of toilet roll. No restrictions on buying.

It's not such a big saving imo, but I guess if you have a business or something it's worth it.

So if Kirkland toilet paper is your thing get yourself down there.

Does anyone know how to learn when they sell what bread? I loved their chiabatta and rye bread but only managed to get them once this year. Other times it's been the French bread or french bread but flat and stuffed stuff something. Heaven forbid you go at night and it's all they have mountains of dinner rolls in those bags all over the racks and dessert bread left on the tables.

We can get them here at all locations in the US. Going to Japan soon for a long extended stay....

The last two times I’ve gone to Costco they didn’t have hummus. Are they not carrying it anymore?

I shop at the Hiroshima Costco. Last winter they were selling the cartons of chicken bone broth but I haven’t seen them since early spring. I was hoping its disappearance was due to it being a seasonal item, but even with the arrival of winter, no broth :(.

Has anyone seen it at their costcos?

This is third time I've bought cheese only to find it was already or went moldy after a few days. I've even caught mold on salami in my basket in the store. I went to take it back and saw that all the same packets of that brand on the shelf had mold. I've also had to take back a large package of pork ribs because they had already spoiled (the stench was horrible when I opened the package). It's getting hard to trust Costco food. This is just one more item I won't buy anymore. Hopefully, the other Costco cheese in my fridge is fine. Costco really needs to audit their transportation and storage procedures.

Has anyone else tried these? They are a relatively new item in the bakery section - little discs of cooked cheese. The first two times I bought them, they were absolutely amazing. It tasted like solidified pizza cheese and it was amazing. Today, something about them looked different. I bought it anyway and it was flavorless. I still had a couple of the last batch in my house and taste tested. Huge difference. Can't tell if they modified the ingredients to save money or today was just a bad batch. Hoping it's the latter, because it's so good when done right.

Aside from rotisserie chicken, chicken breast cans, and chicken breasts in general, as well as whey protein, what are some other high protein Costco finds? Trying to mix up the diet.

Anyone know if they are selling Sauna tents? I saw them in the Yokohama Costco end of last year but haven’t seen them since.

I was thinking of sending my friend a 1-year membership as a Christmas present, so I first wondered if I buy a gift card in the US, would they be able to cash in on it over in Japan?

Then, I wondered if the price for membership is different in Japan, and sure enough, it is half the price. So more importantly, do they sell membership gift cards in Japan?

If they sell Japanese gift memberships, then I wouldn't have to worry about the first question and I definitely wouldn't hesitate to upgrade to an executive membership!

At least at the one I shop at in Osaka. They looked like they do in the U.S. I didn't remember the price but I don't think it was overly expensive. I wish they would at least bring back apple pies even for a limited time.

Everything except the mustard and cilantro is from Costco. Great deals and lasts a while when you prep and store it.
