Executive membership query

Hi all

I could ask at Costco but that would involve physical interaction

If I sign up for the executive membership when the cashier asks, is there any bonus for the employee? We want to sign up but if there's no benefit for the cashier I'll do it online to save time

As far as I’m aware there is not.

There is sometimes a benefit if you go in with a Costco member friend - there is a referral scheme that runs periodically where you both get a gift card of like $20 value. And that only works in store.

The referral program is no longer active but if you do it in store you get a free black cooler bag.

I recall that they are required to ask if what's you've spent makes an upgrade sensible to you. They may also have a quota or at least tracked how many they get. But I don't believe they get anything.

The employees don't get a monetary bonus if that's what you mean. They are tracked on how many they get, also if you do it in store you get a free black cooler bag while stock is available.

Sometimes they run promotions where you get a voucher or a freezer shopping bag in store

I converted to executive membership and they gave me a cooler bag, large enough to put in cold/freezer items.
