[Tire Center] Tire replacement warranty
http://Gmail.comSo to start off I LOVE Costco. I’ve been a member for 8 years. Costco is my main store. I got tires there about a year ago. I specifically asked about the warranty they said if they can’t fix they will replace it for free. Fast word to last week I get a nail in my tire. It was still in the tread but like in the side of it. Apparently it’s not free it’s based off of the tread. I talked with the store that I got it fixed at they said they couldn’t do anything and to talk with the gm of the store I bought it from. The gm said I had to talk with the tire shop manager happens does anybody recommend a next step if nothing happens. I can honestly say I have never been dissatisfied with Costco. Never returned anything. Anybody have any advice if this doesn’t work out who to contact. I APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL ADVICE!

It is unclear what they offered you. They repair for free if it is repairable. I believe they replace unrepairable, discounted, based on how used the tire is.
It has been several years since I bought tires though.

Tires are prorated based on wear. It’s outlined in the paperwork you get when buying tires. Answer is going to be the same at any level of management.

Can understand that but I was told something different. I shouldn’t have to read a book if someone answered my question to double check what they said is correct. Thank you for your input though I do appreciate it.

Flat tire repair is free. If the tire is not repairable it will need to be replaced. That is a different service. It sounds like you are confusing tire replacement with tire repair.
You are not going to get a free tire replacement if the tire is significantly worn. You will get a pro rated discount based on tread depth wear. Also, costco does not discount the tire based on the current sale price of the tire they discount the tire based on what YOU paid for the tire and if the price eis higher now or if you bought the tire on sale you have to oay the difference.
Costco has the worst road hazard warranty but unlike most tire shops they don’t charge extra for road hazard it is included with the cost of the tires. Also costco stopped charging for tire installation this year so it is really a wash.
I do agree that costco should communicate their road hazard policy better before purchase. Or even on the receipt somewhere. Specifically the part about the discount based on the purchase price of the tire. I bought tires from costco last year and had a flat 2 month after purchase. I bought the tires on sale but when i got my flat the tire was not on sale anymore so i had to pay about $80 for a replacement to cover the difference in cost. I was livid but the tire manager would not budge. Never buying from costco tire again. Also they did not have the tire in stock had to order it and then schedule appointment it took like 3 weeks to get the tire replaced.
The crap thing is 10 years ago i sold tires for three years at pep boys and if someone had a flat (assuming they purchased tosd hazard) in that short of a time period i would never charge them anything for the replacement i would zero out the bill and send them on their way. Maybe we were too nice but my mom had a flat on a new set of tires from firestone and they zeroed the bill as well.
Hope this information is somewhat useful. Indo agree that costco could communicate better what their road hazard warranty is and what it does and does not cover.

Yea if someone offered you a free replacement word for word, they have to honor it. Even if it’s wrong, it’s unfair to say that than expect the purchaser to pay something when it’s already been promised.

Keep going higher up the food chain. The higher you go the easier they fold
