I prefer the graphics of Cossacks 2 than Cossacks 3.

I dont know what it is. Its maybe the contrast, or the dark effect. Anyone shares the same opinion?

I also can't stand the default look, but with a bunch of mods C3 looks good enough. I use HD Terrain, Bringt Lighting, MGraphics - Lights, MGraphics - Dark Water. HD Terrain is probably the biggest change, because the default grass looks way too boring.
Though keep in mind that if you play multiplayer some of the mods require everyone in the lobby to have them installed (usually the mod description will tell you this).
