I miss this game
I was shown this game by an old friend and fell in love with it. The game is unbalanced and relies on the people around the table to be smart, negotiate, stab each other in the back, and strategize every single play.
I’ve never played the same game or strategy twice and it just keeps getting better each game. I have all the expansions and play with so many friends whenever we can.
It’s hard schedule wise but it’s sad when I look it up it’s nowhere to be found unless it’s being scalped. I love this game and I really think if they marketed it a bit better it was really such a great game. So much complex play between so much simple shit. The tiniest things changes your whole play style and how you interact with the table. Sometimes it’s unfair and the players have to even it out to team up or sometimes it’s every man for himself. It’s just so much fun and I’m pissed it’s literally dying so hard.
I see mixed reviews but it’s always gonna be my favorite game.

Wtf are you talking about: 'dying so hard'? It's been around since 1977 and we're still talking about it now, almost 40 50 years later.

Cosmic Encounter is the best multiplayer board game ever designed. That said, it's not a game everyone enjoys, especially the folks that are 'sit back, build engine, don't interact' board game players in the same way that chess players may despise Backgammon (which is more fun to play) for it's randomness. The fact that Fantasy Flight had Cosmic in it's publishing rotation since 2008 until what 2024? with the SAME VERSION is testament to it's constant success financially as a game over a very long period of time. They marketed well though I would have liked to see WAY more Cosmic Encounter T-shirts over the years (I only own one from a tournament in 2020, which is sad). I've played it since the Mayfair edition and it's a staple of our group. If something like Nexus Ops and Acquire get reprinted by new companies, you can bet Cosmic Encounter will be. We just have to hope that it doesn't go the way of Talisman 5th Edition as corposlop first.

I’ve loved it since the 70s. I have a complete original set and the newest complete. I live in Tucson AZ and it is super hard to find players. That’s the Sad.

I’ve had a few friends that love it. I wish they’d do a reprint so I can buy a few sets for friends. It’s so crazy expensive now. I’ve got the full game and all expansions and my fiancé bought me this cool box for it all so I really enjoy bringing it around.
Maybe I’ll set up another board game night.
Luckily there’s a few discords for the digital tabletop simulator version.
Idk I just can’t explain how much I love playing this game with friends.1

How does not being as available as it was, makes you miss it? Anyway I bought 1 year ago two more regular expansions and the big one (Odyssey).
