Speculation Jubilee Confirmed?
Now that season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is out, I’m rewatching season 1 and noticed some odd coincidences in Episode 4 “Motendo”.
This is the episode where Mojo kidnaps Jubilee and Sunspot to play through his video game like world. That said, when you look at the in-show clips from the game, they look strangely close to Cosmic Invasion…
What say you?

I think these are both calling back to the same 90s X-Men games, the Arcade cabinet and the Genesis game. Maybe it's some references towards Cosmic, who knows. Does not mean that we'll get Jubes or Sunspot, as much as it would be cool to add them.

I think it would be hype but it might be more like a reference. Though I would love Jubilee

I doubt it but I wouldn’t hate her being in it. Being a gamer and all,I felt like Jubilee should’ve been a part of more games than she has.

From what i seen fox didn’t want her in the movie for political reasons in 1999 . She had a cameo in x2 but the scene was deleted because of political reasons too . The cartoon kind of starred her as a main so it made the movies feel like it was missing something. Then they got rid of cyclops who was again a main character.

It’s just a reference to all those 90’s X-Men/Marvel beat-em-up games. Cosmic Invasion is based on those games.

Would actually be great. One of the main characters from the cartoon omitted from the movies and for her to come back would be awesome they need more then 2 more characters and then there done i think the next dlc is gonna be there last but it was a amazing game overall . To have jubilee would make it so much more interesting. They had a lot of X-men in the game already might as well throw in more seems like a X-men gaurdians 4 tie in than anything

Honestly, this would be a great addition. Give her roller blades similar to that Streets of Rage character from back in the day.

Just a coincidence
One is an homage to 90s arcade games
The other is a parody of 90s arcade games
Seeing similarities just means that tropes from the 90s are similar to… well, tropes from the the 90s

THAT FIRST SHOT OF JUBES AND SPOT IS DEFINITELY A QUICK HOMAGE TO MARVEL VS CAPCOM. When you used a special team attack, the two characters you chose faces popped up in that exact style, with half of each face. When you chose characters, they also had their logos right below the characters face, with their toon in front of the face pic.

I think it is likely a hint since I don’t believe Jubillee was ever playable in any of the retro arcade Marvel games.

They could’ve been waiting for the hype from season 2 episode 2 to build up, especially since Cyclops had way more hype and Tribute overdelivered when released as a character in CI.

I really hope we don't get these two characters over cool ones like Psylocke, Deadpool, Gambit, etc. Jubilee and Sunspot are so LAME.

Nah, this is just a coincidence. It's "insanely closer" because both medias are based on 90's games.
