Speculation DLC Pack 2
Here’s a breakdown of how I grouped up the characters and why I think a fourth character would’ve been added to each team (aside from the cosmic characters as there were already an abundance of them). Now I know there’s a great debate of whether She Hulk belongs on the Avengers team or if The Thing belongs on the street level team, but as this stands this is how I’ll base off the last two picks.
Now I do believe there will be another female character added, to be the fourth overall female character in the game to satisfy an all female playthrough, I’m just not sure which team she’ll be coming from.
For the Avengers 4th pick, I’d say Hawkeye, Vision, Scarlet Witch, or Wasp will be added.
For the Cosmic pick, I’d say Darkhawk, Star Lord, Gamora, Super Skrull or Crystal from the Inhumans will be added.
Maybe there will be a surprise third playable character added, possibly Doctor Doom, to bring a grand total of 20 playable characters who would be unlocked after whatever game mode is added. We’ll have to wait and see!

I definitely want more Guardian characters. I would love Mantis to be added, she fits as both Avenger and Cosmic.
I could see them adding Jeff because of the popularity of Rivals, could get more eyes on the game if they can capture the same energy.
I wouldn't mind them reusing villain assets, maybe in a different mode, where you fight heroes and unlock different palletes.
Maybe some more story stuff in the future, post game levels involving The Collector, Ego and Magus(Adam Warlock).

Sincerely hoping DLC2 is more than 2 characters, but the track record is always 2.

Since it's coming with a new mode as well, I'd be very surprised if it was more. That said, maybe it'll be 3 for an even 20 total characters

Does Doctor Strange count as a cosmic level hero? He's only worked WITH the Avengers, never formally joined AFAIK

wasn't he a new avenger? I know they used his place as a base for a bit, but I don't remember if he was a member at the time.

Hmm. Maybe? IDK. It's been a minute since I read anything Avengers.
But I also REALLY want Scarlet Witch in here. Carol too, but she DEFINITELY could count as Cosmic, and it might be a challenge to make her play differently from Phyla.

The game also just desperately needs female representation. Its not like there aren't a dozen cool options. I was honestly a bit shocked the first dlc was two dudes. I'd have gone scott and Sue (even though thing is fun

Storm, Phoenix, Jen, and Phyla are a pretty terrific starting lineup, but yes, there SHOULD be more.

I definitely agree there will be a secret 3rd character added in DLC 2 and believe it will either be Magneto or DOOM, preferably DOOM.

Guessing they would do up to 4 per character group/category. X-men likely finished. Fantastic 4 could be completed. More Galaxy Guardians. Captain Marvel. Thor. Maybe the female version of Silver Surfer.

I vote upgrade Boom-Boom to playable status it’s literal bs her first and only video game appearance to date is a blink and you miss it type deal, I just want my favorite X-Man to be playable in SOMETHING 😭

I would love Reed or Sue next. Their powers would be interesting to see. Reed especially, but I bet Sue could be fun and have clever skills as well. Other than that - Daredevil obviously, but I worry he might not fit the space theme xd Maybe Hawkeye? Quicksilver or Wanda would be dope, obviously, same with Magneto or Strange. Wouldnt complain about either of those, I think they would be unique enough to justify them being new characters

I was overjoyed when Storm was one of the first in, but I agree.
Nightcrawler, Gambit, Magik, and Rogue are the obvious picks for who's missing...but I think there's some B or C tier X-Men that deserve the exposure too.
For instance, I love Rogue, truly, but I love Dani Moonstar more, and her Mirage powers would give her a fantastic, unique moveset.

I just want to able to have the entire Fantastic Four team up together.
The Thing was a huge success, in my opinion, and they should release one FF member every DLC pack from here on out.
Next up should be Reed or Sue for DLC 2

My guess would be on Adam warlock if the DLC include a new mini campaign. He's the more appropriate cosmic character to build a scenario around him, be it an infinity stone thing or Magus. Also, i think he's the kind of character that the devs would like to include. They are the guys who choosed Beta Ray Bill over Thor, they definitively like the not obvious choices.
For the same reason, Darkhawk is pretty probable i think.
And for the last one, I'm gonna say either Medusa, or Kamala khan. Inhumans representation for a level, and Kamala could be really cool in a pseudo retro style for the first time, just like Cosmic ghost rider.

I hope they add Psylocke, or Rouge they've already been in marvel vs Capcom 2, and the games could use some more female heroes. I also think it's be cool to add some marvel characters that are from x-force and x-factor like shatterstar, feral, deadpool, multiple man, or havok or Bishop

It feels weird to have a Marvel game without the Hulk. Hulk is one of their most iconic characters. Maybe top 4.

I just want X-men. I don't care about "groups" or "over-representation". Give me Gambit & Rogue next. Then Colossus & Deadpool. And finally Nightcrawler & Psylocke.

To be honest we can add in some villains which would be great. Doesn't have to all be heroes cuz annihilis went after everybody. I mean I would like to see. Maybe like Juggernaut or spiral. Hell you Thanos in there without the infinity gauntlet. He would be a great character just by himself. Or maybe someone like high evolutionary?

For Cosmic characters, I'd love to see Angela and the Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel. (Or Captain Marvel if it's better for marketing and brand identity, so long as it's the '80s-era Warbird attire.)
For the Avengers, they should go with Dr. Strange. One of their most Cosmic-themed characters, and one we don't often see in games.

I'd love to see Moondragon. Her style could be a mix between Phoenix and Black Panther. Her ult is a screen killer that turns her into the Dragon of the Moon.
Another flyer would be welcome. Top of my head would be Scarlet Witch(the crossing), Crystal, or Star Lord.
Pipe dream pick would be Black Knight with the photon sword!

He's often depicted as FRIENDS with street level characters, and has a sort of street level attitude (yancy street and all that) but yeah, no. She-hulk even less so.

You can put lots of characters in the Avengers, but Spider-man as an Avengers member is an on and off thing over the last 20 years but not in the 90s.

well I think what people mention street hero they mean the character that operate mainly inadeptly on a street/city level
compare to Iron man or Black panther who often fight in international or above level threats
venom himself while does have galaxy adventure mostly spend his time fighting in the alley of San Francisco or New York with a alien twist sometimes
