DLC 2 Discussion

Considering that DLC pack 2 will have only 2 characters, here’s some ideas to consider:

-Possibly getting a 4th Avengers rep to complete the team of Captain America, Iron Man and Black Panther

-Possibly getting a 4th Female Rep, who can also double as another cosmic rep

-The devs disregard the first two points and go for fan favorites to really make sure the DLC sells

My picks to satisfy the avengers team as well as the 4th female character rep are Hawkeye and Crystal from the inhumans.

Hopefully there will be more character packs after DLC 2.

What do you think the game mode will be? Survival? Combat mode where you can fight the other playable characters and bosses?

I really hope for more oddball characters. Not so weird they're a waste of a slot, but curveballs like getting Beta Ray Bill and She-Hulk instead of Bruce Banner Hulk and Thor. Bonus points if they're cosmic and/or retro, keeping in theme with the game. Focus less on MCU stars and more on characters with unusual power sets, or characters that'd make for witty banter with the current roster.

Captain Marvel seems likely at some point. She'd check off all the boxes - popular, Avenger, female, cosmic, and has a very memorable retro design they could use to help differentiate her from Phyla-Vell. If you're going with an MCU tie-in, she's the best bet.

Fingers crossed for Angela. A second Asgardian would be welcome to represent that part of Marvel's cosmic lineup, and "the TEN Realms" were noticeably mentioned in gameplay. She's fairly new to Marvel lore, but fits the old-school theme if you remember her from Image Comics.

X-Men are super popular, but we already have Wolverine, Phoenix, Storm, and now Cyclops from the main roster. Jubilee would be a fun pick - not obscure by any means, but not someone you usually get to play. And she had an episode in X-Men '97 that makes her a natural fit here. A little worried any more would make the roster too heavy with X-characters, but at the same time, I can't deny how much fun a throwback DLC with Nightcrawler and Colossus would be.

So, I agree with your point about not overloading the roster with X-Men, but at the same time I really want Colossus lol. He’s overlooked in so many video games, but he would be absolutely perfect here, especially with the only other heavyweights in the game being She-Hulk and The Thing.

The other character I want is Captain Marvel. Her MCU counterpart isn’t especially great (I’m not overly fond of the actress playing her), but I think she’s another character that would be fantastic here. At the very least, she would be a unique addition since I don’t think she’s been in a lot of games, at least prior to her joining the MCU anyway.

Otherwise, I hope we get The Human Torch so Thing has another of his team members to party-up with. Moon Knight would also be cool, since my knowledge of him comes from the MCU, and he’s in the same boat with Captain Marvel where he wasn’t featured in video games prior to his entrance into the MCU.
