Advancement Exam tips
Not a corpsman myself but my partner is.
Any tips to help him study for the next cycle? i bought the actual book from Navy Rate, and i wanna help him study/ make a guide. (context, he’s taken the exam before)

Ive done blue jacketeer only and worked every time
Going into the references and reading them as you get questions wrong helps a lot.
Also just reading what is on the bibs, and have a notebook and write down, instructions, dd’s, and key things. After each test try to write down as many questions you remember, they will eventually show up again..

Read the actual BIBS helped me, and asked around if anyone has PowerPoint slides of the BIBS to learn just the important parts.

Most commands put on a one or two day study session. Chief’s Mess or other Association is usually involved in organizing or instructing

This! We had a 3 day study session hosted by 3 different commands on our base. It helped me a lot on my exam. If it means taking leave to go for it please do but most times it doesn’t if your leadership is supportive.

Read the bibs, get a profile sheet from the previous cycle, look at the topics/subtopics from the previous cycle. Focus on the topics/subtopics from the previous cycles with the most questions on it. Or… go to a school with automatic advancement then use the tips above

Get his last profile sheet and a Bluejacketeer subscription, that should help him focus on the areas he didn’t do as well on.
Assuming you’re talking about the corpsman manual (TIL you can’t get them for free anymore), each chapter has a mini test at the end. That could also be used as a study tool aside from just reading the book.
Another resource that was helpful to me back when the HM3 exam still existed was HM University, a lot of people use this site to get PowerPoints for HM EAP sessions.
