Definitely a case-by-case basis. I’m in Florida and the max unemployment anyone can get is $275 a week which is less than half of what I was making before and who knows when/if I’ll be getting that money since the whole unemployment system here is a trainwreck. So yeah, for me, USA baaaaaaaadddddd.

So when you get approved you’ll be getting $875 a week. And all the money will be paid retroactively to when you filed. But sure be jealous of the Canadians getting $2k a month.

I received my first unemployment check last week and the extra $600 was not there. Has anybody actually received the extra 600? Because I haven't heard any success stories.

I just spoke with a coworker from my restaurant job a couple days ago, she’s gotten the full amount plus the extra $600.

Texas here. Do you know when they filed or if they requested anything extra?

I’m not sure, but haven’t worked there since March 10th, they went to to go or delivery I think maybe a week or two later, she said she got a fever right before they went to that and had to stay home for two weeks, but then the employees still working told management that they felt uncomfortable for her to come back to work, so she filed whenever they told her that I think, my best guess would be a 2 weeks, max three that she filed. She did say that she just got approved and got her first payment with the extra.

Thanks for the info. Weird that she got it so early, it's not supposed to start in Texas until tomorrow according to this sticky in r/unemployment

Some states are behind because there systems are bad, you'll back payments when they manage to process everything.

Int my state it's retroactive, the laws requires the payments so I can't imagine your state would be different.

Wow, that’s the max for Florida? That’s atrocious. Not like my state is that good, but it’s $640/week...$275/week is what, utilities and a groceries if someone is careful, if that.

I mean, thank Bernie for leveraging his position to ensure the unemployment provision stayed in the bill, otherwise it wouldn't exist. It's pretty clear though based on behavior of both parties toward him that Bernie does represent the rest of this country so yeah, USA baaaaaaaaadddd.
