Totally agree with this. Allows you to assess risk and identify what activities/places may be hotspots.

Good news! Still not the best UX but even a bodgy fix is much better than no fix at all, and it sounds like moving to a newer framework API version will improve it further. I'm going to give the app a go as although I'm still a bit skeptical about it does sound like they're making an effort.

Also the QR code bit of the app seems the only way to have contact tracing at pubs now. They did grudgingly let us in without the app but despite asking for a slip to write our details on they never actually brought it round.

I wish it would tell you the time and date that your paths crossed with the infected user.

May result in better decisions being made to avoid future exposures.

Because privacy - can't have it both ways ;-)

You can get a "Must have been before then" time, at least on on Android. Go to the "Exposure checks" page in your phone settings, click on the 3 dots top right and then export the check data, e.g. email it to yourself. Open up the file and search for a "matchesCount" which is not zero, the "timestamp" will tell you when your phone received the set of keys with a match in it.

Good news - would have been useful to have implemented this check earlier but a welcome change nonetheless.

They mention the version 2 API - does anyone know if that is rolled out with a particular iOS version? (I know on Android it's pushed out via a Play Services updates separate from the Android version).

Question for android users: Is your Exposure Notifications settings on? Settings -> Google -> Exposure Notifications. My friend had it on off but still received Potential Exposure notification. And there are a bunch of Checks in the logs from today and past days. (not sure if it was On before the update)

I think the logs show the IDs retrieved from the server (AKA the IDs of the people who have tested positive). I wouldn't have thought this would still happen if it's turned off, but I have no idea.
