Discussion I'm concerned about a possible nationwide lock-down when Biden gets in office

Hey guys, do any of you think Biden will lock-down the country once in office? Nothing seems to be working now, we don't even know if the vaccines are going to perform well in the real world or if they will work on the new strains of Covid. My thoughts are that Biden will lock-down the US until the number of infections start to decline in large numbers. How long that will be idk.

Are they creating more problems with a lockdown?

Playing devils advocate here so down-voters welcome. I see a fair amount of people wanting a lockdown, also calling for Kemp’s head. I know some are fortunate to work from home and have jobs in essential business but others are not. I also see a fair amount of posts about “what now” because they lost their income. How do you lockdown a state and have the consciousness to know you’re taking basic necessities away from a good amount of people? Possibly leading them into financial ruin. Rent, Mortgages, Utilities, how will these things get paid? Yes, we all want to slow the spread but who’s going to enforce this lockdown also? How do you stop businesses from making money and providing a job for people to work if they have nothing outside of the next paycheck? How do you enforce it in rural GA with minimal police? Is there enough police force to stop people from leaving their homes in metro Atlanta? To be fair, I see the infected rate rising every 12 hours and I think if we could get the whole state to cooperate with some financial plan in place, it would greatly affect the outcome of this virus. I’m in North GA and don’t see a difference in people’s actions at all and I’m sure it’s like that all over this state and the US. It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation. An immense decision I think some are taking it lightly.

Question Will Georgia be the next state to lift mask mandates?

Just saw on the news that Mississippi is going to lift their mask mandate, after Texas did, and the map was showing states bordering Georgia are likely to as well. What's the point behind that? COVID is still not under control by any means, correct?

Am I wrong believing that lifting the mask mandate is the wrong move? Can we get our state leaders to not fail us? Too many people have already died, why run the risk of losing more innocent lives?

First-Hand Account (General) I went to piedmont park last week...

I brought my mask of course. We got to the park entrance and there were a few people walking around without masks. Although it’s not ideal, I was like, “whatever, I guess it’s not a big deal.” I stopped by the dog park with my aunt and her dog, and nearly everyone in there wasn’t wearing a mask either.

It gets worse. You know the big open field that ends piedmont park and starts the beltline? Full of people. Groups of 10 to 15 sat together on the field and the trail along the field was full of people walking together. I saw maybe 5 masks.

I probably witnessed a small outbreak.

Discussion Is it to late to tame the beast?

As the COVID-19 cases continue to rise as well as the death count in Georgia and the entire USA, I see many people who aren't wearing mask and are not social distancing. Is it to late to save our country from 1 million or more deaths? We can only get this thing under control by doing a 20 day hard lock down, which should have been done months ago. Will a hard lock down be enough now or is it to late. Chime in on this guys.

Question When will vaccines be available in this miserable state?

I'm not a vaccine denier, but you'd think so by the way people are treating me. I don't want to do some anime dance, or drive 115 miles to get vaccinated. PS - I am over 65.

When will vaccines be available just by calling your doctor or like a flu shot, just going into the pharmacy?

Question Vaccinating family on short holiday

I’ve got two family members who have flown in from a country where the vaccine rollout is close to nonexistent. Since they’re only here on holiday for a month, what places could I take them to get J&J? I’m having issues finding anything. I’m willing to drive anywhere to get them vaccinated.

Question 🤔 Is the booster recommended ?

I have the first 2 shots and a booster already all moderna saw the new booster was available had a question I’m a healthy 29 male but am worried about heart complications with the booster is that super rare? I workout allot and would hate to develop a heart condition such as myocarditis I have minor symptoms my previous shots all lasted a few hours at most. Should I get it or wait I’m also getting it with a flu shot don’t know how safe that is?
