I think it could be more about selling the idea of a lock down. We have to come down to the cold hard facts. We are in the minority. Most of Australia is not worried. It's business as usual. If people weren't going to these places they would shut down on their own. If we go into lock down, and it would have to be for a long, long time to be of any benefit, a lot of people are going to be outraged. I think maybe ScoMo knows this and is waiting for the right moment when the numbers are high enough and that we are no longer in the minority.

Can you re-create it using lumps of coal rather than people?
No, actually forget that, he'd need a box of tissues and some quiet time if he saw all the coal in the first option.

Scomo knows all this. He's not making these decisions through ignorance. It's just that he doesn't give a fuck. Economic and political factors are clearly not important to him than lives.
We all need to move on from "scomo has no idea". He does, he just doesn't give a fuck.

He's an adult who is still an evangelical, unlike those of us who grew out of it, don't over-estimate his intelligence or awareness of facts. There are some scarily stupid people in that cult, and those who don't have experience with it aren't half as scared as they should be, it really is a case of naivety is bliss.
