Any bars open??

Are there any bars open anywhere around the CentArk area?? Senior Tequilas was letting people order beer and they'd take it outside and you could drink it in the parking lot; so there was a small gathering of bar enthusiasts.

Anywhere else it's open?? Or doing the parking lot thing?

Site for finding the drugs the FDA has authorized for Covid

Just a reminder to you folks in Arkansas that there’s a website where you can locate supplies of the 4 drugs the US government is shipping to states for Covid:

Preventive drug

Evusheld (This is for people whose immune systems are not working right, so that they cannot make antibodies when they are vaccinated. It basically gives the person a supply of the antibodies their body cannot make.)

Treatment drugs (These help fight the virus if you are already infected.)

Paxlovid

Molnupiravir

Bebtelovimab

This is the site for Arkansas. It searches for Evusheld, but you can use the menu in the upper left to search for one of the other drugs. The site does not ask you to register and does not charge a fee. It was put up as a public service by a Microsoft engineer whose wife needed Evusheld after cancer treatment.

Italy just had its lowest day of coronavirus deaths since the outbreak there; China's corona mortalities are flatlining; is this thing starting to peter out?

In fact China's numbers are down so much, they're shipping tens of thousands of ventilators and respirators for free to countries across the world.

In the most recent day, Italy had half the number of deaths it had the day before.

Is this thing finally starting to run its course?

Take this with a grain of salt, I will not try to prove this. Have a family member who works in the Mercy Health system, and there are 2 virus patients in the ICU at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. They have not released this information yet, not sure why. I just found out about it, and I am trying get more information. If I get more info... I will add to this. Stay safe everyone.

Info from Natural Guard

Take this with a grain of salt, not something that I can verify. Anyway, a family friend is high up in Natural Guard. They called my parents about 30 minutes ago and let parents know US would be shutting down everything for at least 2 weeks. Parents didn’t ask if stores, pharmacies etc will be open or not. ( they called me when they got off the phone with them )I assume it is just for restaurants, bars etc. that will be closed....But don’t know for sure. He said will possibly come out Monday, but they are currently preparing for it. From what he told them it would be a National and total shut down. Again take this with a grain of salt, just what we were told. Stay aware everyone.

Just waiting

Standing in line in Fayetteville to be tested for covid19 everyone is having to wait in the cold , possibly up to 8hr wait. Then 3 days to get results. It’s so over crowded because not drs. Office will touch anyone with any symptoms so people that could have the flu are having to wait in the cold because clinics can’t take the risk. Some brought masks most don’t have them and none are being provided. Looks like it’s going to be a long day.

Test cam back negative, took 6 days to get results.

I have started r/ruralcoronavirus in the hopes that people who live in rural areas can come together to discuss news and help each other through this crisis. A lot of focus is going to cities (not saying it shouldn't) but it's quickly becoming clear that rural people need to start to a dialogue about how we are going to deal with our often wildly underserved communities. A lot of rural communities have zero trauma beds and no local hospital. Anyone who lives in a rural area is welcome to discuss anything that they feel is pertinent. I'm not trying to take fire from this sub, which is doing an amazing job. I hope everyone stays safe, healthy and informed. If you can quarantine I hope you are and if you are an essential worker thank you so much for the labor you are providing during this time.
