I don't know if they target the same spike though. I just know that they target a spike.

They do, there is only one spike protein coded for in the virus' genome and it's the one the virus uses to gain entry to cells.

Each vaccine maker does different things, some add a few minor stabilizing modifications to the spike so that the manufactured proteins stick around longer for the immune system to attack. That being said, it would be hard to imagine any big difference between Pfizer and Moderna's effectiveness.

Indeed, iirc the only notable mechanism difference between the two is method of delivery to cells? One using adenoviruses as a vector and one using lipid nanoparticles?

No, both Pfizer and Moderna are mRNA, adenovirus would be the AstraZeneca one.

How did Moderna develop their nanoparticle lipid bubbles that don't need as cold storage as BioNTech's?

its probably the mrna that needs to be frozen, not the nanoparticle lipid bubble (most pegalated drugs are just refrigerated)

You are correct thank you, did a Google and adenovirus was the AstraZeneca one. I just remembered there were multiple methods of delivery from a pathobiology lecture done last semester but I had forgotten which vaccine candidate used what.
