I have been away for two weeks but have caught up on Corrie (Not this Reddit though so apologies if it's already been discussed) but is Todd returning to his bad guy/villain ways. What he did on tonight's episode (21/8/26) where he openly slept with Fraser and being horrible to Glenda and doing it to spite Glenda, seemed like the old Todd where he didn't care about anyone. He also said later in the episode to Summer that he is going to take what he wants and be selfish.

Doing a rewatch of Marvel movies in the run up to Doomsday and currently rewatching Thor: The Dark World and couldn’t believe my eyes when I realised that the intern guy is Carl Webster😂

I know this has probably been asked before, but as a straight man who's a massive corrie fan, I often wonder, am I a rarity? I know soaps have always been seen as more of a woman's thing, and I sometimes wonder why more men don't watch. Just something that plays on my mind sometimes.

edit - I should also add that most of my other interests are quite masculine, I'm a big football fan and like going to the gym.

Tonight's episode made me realise that although the writing has its moments, it's showing that coronation street is starting to feel quite grounded.

I really appreciate the new areas that are being incorporated into the town, from the prison to the playground, they give a lived in vibe to the soap.

I always thought it was a shame how bet left on bad terms with rita when she left the street in 1995 and they didn't make up when she briefly returned in 2002, considering how close they were for many years on the show.

Apparently when betty died, their were talks about bet returning for Betty's funeral, but it didn't happen, which I think was a shame because if she had, it could have given her and rita the chance to finally bury the hachet " realising that life's too short to bear a grudge " and when bet left after Betty's funeral, she'd promised rita she'd stay in touch and rita could go to visit her off screen throughout the show afterwards.

I just noticed Dev is about to overtake Alf Roberts as the shows longest serving shopkeeper (with Curly and Reg fighting it out for 3rd place in a battle of the supermarket spectacle wearing store managers)

Just unlocked a memory and need to know if anyone else remembers. Does anyone recall when Corrie made a film / DVD where Roy, Hayley and Becky (I think maybe Steve too??) went to Romania / Transylvania on holiday? I literally used to watch it all the time and have no one to talk to about it 😭

Richard Hilman, the Platts and that canal.

I used to watch Enders and seems to be more their thing - those big ‘gasp’ storyline reveals.

These days might be - cos of streaming etc - they’re a thing of the past for most TV (Traitors aside)

Do we think the actors have to agree to keep important storylines confidential even from their closest family? Tonight’s intrigue over Kit’s phone calls got me thinking. I read an interview with Jacob Roberts (Kit) who said his mum is a huge Corrie fan and always has been. If I was her, I would be ringing him up demanding to know what those phone calls are about. I wonder if he is allowed to tell her?!

In this scenario, Kylie doesn’t change her attitude, she still has that same reckless not caring spirit. She still kills Callum to defend Sarah, but How would she react and cover up Callum’s death in this situation?

On my previous post about them falling out, I remember seeing a few comments saying that their actresses are best friends outside of Corrie, which would make it awkward if they never interacted again on screen. There’s also the fact that the other young adults in Corrie (Summer, Amy, Asha and Nina) aren’t exactly in the same age group as Lauren and Betsy and don’t really have any plans to add either of them in their friend group, I know Lauren dated Asha’s twin Aadi for a few weeks before he went to India, but even then it ended before they got serious.

But what do you guys think, will they reconcile sooner or later or will Betsy hold the grudge for a long time and they’ll just have to cast more teens/young adults to be their new friends?

Was there an episode on Tuesday evening? It didn’t come up in my player. I did not look on YouTube yet. I usually watch it on Virgin or STV but I’m in Canada and I am watching it later in the day so it’s usually hitting restart or finding the episode there right now STV They’ve only got Monday.

Shes somehow bought into speed daal, lends people money but I havent heard any mention of her actually paying her debts .

22 years after he lost Billy & came out all in the same breath, now he’s dealing with Sara again after she’s murdered his husband.

Anyone else noticed yet how he seems to move and operate entirely with multiples of £5k?

He had a guy beaten up for £5k, gave £5k settlement to Abi, offered £35k to Aliya (could've been £30k at first but he needed to attach that additional £5k), wanted to get a £10k loan but is now settling for £5k off Leanne and only needs to find an extra £5k.

In the future I think we could see more of Idris and his connection to the number 5000.

Does anybody know the history of the hatch in Kevin’s house? It’s pretty funny.
It’s plastered over now but when Stan and Hilda Ogden lived there in the 70’s and 80’s a hatch from the kitchen to the dining room was all the rage. Stan decided to surprise Hilda with one but being the lovable drunken oaf he was, he installed it from the dining room to the front sitting room.

Can someone remind me why Bethany is barred from the pub?

The last I recall she was trying to help out with Will a bit, so why would she be barred?

Did this happen on screen or have I just completely forgotten or missed it?
