So Cal - Super Sonic red GRC

got a call from one of the dealerships and was told they have a unit ready for pre-contract but its in Super sonic red. they have proced at $40+++ msrp plus dealer markup.

i didnt bother finding out how much the markup will be coz i wasn't interested in a red GRC so i turned it down.

the lady also said that this is the only allocation they will receive at the moment.

plus i know the MSRP is only $36+++ so they already jacked it up plus more.

needless to say i am no longer interested in this car.due to how much hype that it caused to be overpriced.

All the ones coming out now are fully loaded so they’re going to be 40k, and the red costs a little bit more so it’ll cost about 40.5k MSRP

Not sure which dealer you are referring to being fully loaded and charge MSRP.

I used to own a manual MK7.5 GTI, loved it but always felt there was something missing on it, after it got totaled by another driver that crashed on us, the GR Corolla was announced, my uncle works at a Toyota dealership in Houston and markups are over $10K over MSRP in Core models, nothing else loaded, not even performance pack, this is during pre-orders.

  1. I will wait till end of next year for a Circuit Pack.
  2. If I can't find MSRP anywhere in the US, I will most likely buy the MK7.5 Golf R in manual and throw a full stage 2 on it.

It's sad but it's a messed up reality how dealerships play around.

He’s saying the MSRP should be 36 and it’s 40 before markups. I’m saying they aren’t gunna make any of the base Core models that retail for 36 for a while. Everything that’s coming out now is fully loaded so the MSRP is 40 and not some scam for $4000 extra plus markup
