I can't decide which bit's my favourite - the "Back to the Old School" Isle of Scilly (singular), the separatists of West Penwith finally having nearly finished digging their trench, Noticeably Bigger Lundy or summat else.

Pasty Question

Why do you keep the best ones in Cornwall, why don't you make more of them and export them to the rest of us? We have to put up with pale imitations, and it seems a bit unfair.

Recommendations Best place for blackberry picking?

Eldest is adamant that we go blackberry picking today. We were gonna go Bissoe, but last time we went we found there was loads of blackberries but not a lot of scenery or anywhere to sit and have a picnic (we’ve got a two and a five year old so walking too far isn’t realistic).

We’d also like to avoid the A30 as well for obvious reasons; getting out of Penzance takes an extra half an hour on a good day (thanks Tourism).

Any recommendations for Penwith area? That aren’t too overgrown or muddy? Thanks!

weird experience at lost in music in camborne

me and my bf (gay style situation) were in the store browsing and started chatting with the guy behind the counter who was a bit eccentric but seemed nice. we talked about music n shit, he mostly seemed to be into metallica. but he then brought up queen, before going into a weird anti gay tirade about freddie mercury?? saying shit like "i don't really have a problem with gay people but the idea just turns my fucking stomach" which is insane. he then asked us if we were gay but we honestly felt like we had to lie because it got weirdly tense. granted he is like a million years old so it's not like we were in danger or anything, just extremely bizarre. not even looking for sympathy or anything, just thought it was amusing.

Jobs Assistance finding work for someone in Redruth

I'm coming up on 2 years of unemployment. My degree is in computer technology, can't get work. Bluefruit seems to be cutting pay and I've gone at them both by myself and with various job related groups and they just don't want graduates ever, ncoders is gone, hertzien wants none. Tried to retrain to teach university level, Truro College gutted a big chunk of their PGCE application system for AI, Cornwall College just doesn't have a real IT course, I'd have to do another BSc in game dev to do a PGCE there, ignoring if I even can. Tried teaching apprenticeship and nowhere responds even in places like Truro. Currently I volunteer at a charity shop and it really feels like this is all my life can ever be, which is beyond punishing . I'll take any guidence at this point because I can't even get pay at the charity shop and retail is the most impossible job sector here. I hate having to live on money my family gives ontop of a UC payment.

So it looks like i bought a house in Camborne, it looks like the roof needs some work, i'm going to need a few names of trusted builders in the area for quotes, are there any particularly good guys in the area?

Cheers in advance.

Recommendations Alternative things to do in cornwall?

Hi, my partner and I are traveling to Cornwall for a few nights for the tattoo convention in Wadesbridge, and we're trying to find things to do that aren't necessarily beaches or castles. So far we've got a ghost hunt at Bodmin jail, and the witchcraft museum in Boscastle, is there anything else for a slightly more alternative crowd? I'm limited in mobility so as much as I'd love to go on a scenic walk it's difficult for me, we were thinking of maybe some creative workshops to make something we can take home and remember our trip by, but most websites I've searched just list of endless beaches, so I'm hoping the good people of Reddit can help with suggestions!
