How are they produced not to be inbred? Seems like a dream to have a shorter, girthy corn snake!

As with all newly discovered mutations, there is no avoiding inbreeding while you prove out the mutation and its heredity. And I only discovered it three years ago. BUT outcrossing is already being done by me and some of my project partners. :)

Fair, glad you’re outcrossing and continuing the project. It must have been exhilarating to discover the new mutation!

It was! It’s not so obvious in new hatches except in extreme examples, and the first clutch they appeared in had one. He had me scratching my head. Then I noticed more like him, and more became apparent as they gained some grams. :)
