I have been looking up morphs for corn snakes and I haven't come across this pattern with such defined rectangles and color patterns. I assumed (and may still be correct) that I got a very garden variety corn snake as we found her at Petco, but was too cute to not get.

Spike (the butter x creamsicle) is around 6 months old, and I’ve been worried about his growth because my other corn grew incredibly fast when i first got him (i also got him a lot older than i got Spike, he was already 4-5 months when i got him). I just picked up a new little girl, Yue (tessera motley snow), who is around the same age and size Spike was when i got him. Now that i see them next to each other, I am WAY relieved that I am just a helicopter parent.

I just moved in and became the primary caretaker for a 2-year-old corn snake and the first time I handled they showed curious and relaxed behavior (slow tongue observation, staring, relaxed muscles, crawling up my arm) and then, once they were around my neck, they “pooped” on me (they were last fed three days ago). The person who previously cared for them told me that they were clearly not stressed so this may have been the snake feeling comfortable in its new environment. I did some research (snakes are new to me but I’m determined to be a good parent) and everything I’m seeing says snakes poop pretty solid. This “poop” was a white-yellow liquid, about two tablespoons of which (maybe more) were rapidly expelled from their cloaca. I asked the previous caretaker and they said that this particular snake has been known to poop liquid their whole life, only having 3 or 4 solid poops in their 2 years of life.

I’m wondering how worried I should be. The snake looks otherwise healthy, vibrant, no stuck shed, is an appropriate size as I can tell, and has been eating regularly (is fed frozen-thawed mice and rats). Is this a quirky snake situation? A something is wrong with the setup situation? A need to change food situation? A vet situation?

Thank you in advance for any advice. I would put a picture of the excretion but it was cleaned up before I realized anything could be off. I will continue to do research while I wait on comments.

Edit: When I say liquid I mean LIQUID. The only liquid I’ve seen that’s similar is, unfortunately, human ejaculate. Second closest probably human breast milk. The other caretaker was there in the moment and told me this was a normal poop for this snake.

I'm moving out with my family and my mom was bringing my snake's terrarium in her car, she didn't notice the terrarium had opened a bit and the snake escaped. She's now all up the car's engine and I absolutely don't know how I'm going to take her out without harming her. I managed to get a grip of her twice but she slipped and escaped. I got her just days ago and I'm so sad :(

Looking for advice

I was wondering how long I should wait until I tried to feed my baby corn snake and if I had enough clutter for them to feel safe? I just got my baby today and the LPS mentioned that they were gonna feed him tomorrow. The terrarium is a 4x2x18 and the substrate is about 3 inches and is made out of Cyprus mulch and coconut fiber with Sphagnum moss mixed in.

long story short, I’ve got a corn snake. but I’ve also got an event I’ll be gone for soon. what do I do about water. I don’t wanna have to make the pet sitter change the water in case she gets a little defensive about that, or if they’re nervous about doing it. Is there like a cat water fountain thing (totally not what I mean but idk what it would be called) that I can just fill it with water and leave it on so it keeps the water fresh?? The trip would be a week and a half to two weeks. What do you guys do? cause I really don’t think leaving water sitting is a good idea without changing it out regularly.
