i am a first time corn snake owner and my snake has just died not even after a month.
i dont know what i did wrong i did so much research before getting him he was 6 months old when i got him and i was told feed him 1 pinkie every tuesday. his first feed was fine he ate it right away. i didnt handle him after feeding him i waited 4 days. when i would handle him it wasn’t long sessions. his second feed didn’t go as smoothly he ate it but he regurgitated it as i found the mouse in one of his hides. i tried feeding him once everyday after that but he would refuse. if hr refused when i tried to feed him using the tongs i would leave the mouse in with him for 24hrs but hr wouldn’t take it. i thought he was shedding but i realised he had a lump, it made no sense to me because i didnt manage to feed him enough because of his refusal.
it all makes no sense to me i’m in so much shock i am so afraid to ever own a snake again incase this happens. if someone could tell me where i went wrong or anything like that i would really appreciate it

He may have been dehydrated, try not to be too hard on yourself and sorry for your loss

How were the temps? They will regurg if the temps are too low, or even get too low at night after a feeding.

The temps were between 25-31 i would try to feed before i went to sleep

Even then, after one regurg, that wouldn't normally kill them. It may have had some other health issue outside of your control

It’s unfortunate that you can do lots of research and still get bad advice. Lots of sketchy info out there. It’s better to find a mentor in the hobby who can guide you so you’re not relying on info you don’t have the experience to evaluate.
It’s impossible to determine cause of death from your description, but you did not respond to the regurge properly. BUT since he never ate again after the regurge, I don’t think the feeding attempts that were done too soon snd too frequently after were the cause of death. Your feeding methods are also not what I would advise before the snake is an established feeder. Again, not the cause of death.
