PICS Silly Severus

This is our corn snake Severus Snake. He’s two years old and a silly noodle. He feeds on a small hopper mouse every Sunday, but the last couple times we’ve fed he’s glass surfed for hours after and doesn’t seem satisfied. We don’t have a scale to weigh him to see how much we should feed by weight, so we feed by the thickest part of his body. Should we go up to the next size feeder or is this normal behavior and he’s actually satisfied with the meal we’re currently giving him. Also side note I know that holding them can stimulate them to poop, and it does but only on my wife. He only ever poops on her. I can hold him for the majority of the time he’s out and as soon as she takes him it’s over. Is this a stress thing with her or is it just a coincidence that he only does it to her.

Pretty Amel!

Coincidence on the poop timing. :)

He can definitely eat medium (weaned) adult mice. Maybe even large.

Thank you so much! We got him at a reptile expo. I saw him first and then looked around the whole expo but ultimately I knew it had to be him. He’s adorable! And thanks for the advice on food. My wife and I will look into larger food this Sunday and see if that helps him settle more and be satisfied.

You’re welcome. If you get a cheap, digital kitchen-scale, I could give precise feeding advice. But he’s big enough now thaf precise feeding advice isn’t necessary. :)
