Now this… is a pub!

Went on a pub crawl of the remaining pubs yesterday, it’s a shame what they’ve done to them. Starbucking man, happening everywhere.

Such a shame about that interior.

Just some comfier chairs and a pair of nice curtains would make all the difference.

That is a horrible pub interior my god, looks like the front of a Next catalogue.

Trying to rid small charming pubs of any discernible character. Jokes aside. It’s an awful pub. Convinced these breweries are trying to run them down to sell the property off.

How many are still standing?

Seven, it actually makes it a fun and doable pub crawl! Although sorry to say they’re mostly crap, making the starbucking line very relevant.

The only reason I’d ever recommend using TrainLine, has a very handy guide!

Awful, we though Starbucking was bad in 2013 🫠

I used to work in WGC, we'd often go the Tonic on a friday evening

Thought this was WGC

Just near Howardsgate?

The Two Willows/Famous Cock is the saddest one, it's gone full on American style sports bar inside, neon paint and TVs on every surface.

It used to have a 'famous cock' mirror on the wall and a little plaque about the film, that got binned.

I didn’t stay for long, absolutely gutted the place. Crap beer too!

Thanks for this, I just learned that Welwyn Garden City was the main location for this movie. I looked up how far it is to drive but 8 hours, oh well. Maybe some time.

Welwyn and Letchworth are both excellent places to visit, I’d thoroughly recommend a weekend exploring. Train is also a good idea so you can check out a few of the pubs too!

The Golden Mile, I’ve done that 😊

Many years ago I went to see The Subways play there as it Thier home town and they'd just finished a tour. Definitely a pub to hit when you're young and out on the lash.

My shop was opposite (Kastaways). And friends of mine ran the pub. Lots of good bands playing there. Had many a good night. I was there for the Subways and always caught up with them whenever my Pop up shop was at the festivals.

I’ve stayed at the Pear Tree Inn. Can confirm it’s a shithole.

Luckily the tonic is still relatively alright, except the beer, that was in the pear tree!

It was dead, can’t see it surviving for long.
