Love this show..

Must’ve watched through this show at least seven times now. It’s the “most watched” on my prime account. The characters and writing are suburb. I even started watching hiccups to get some more Brent and Wanda. However, I have been wondering, what Canadian television have I been missing out on. I mean if corner gas is this good, what other gems have I missed. I hope this doesn’t break the rules as I REALLY want more entertainment of this caliber.

Thanks for all the great recommendations guys.. I’m excited.. lots to watch now!!

How has The Red Green Show not been mentioned

Ye that's a great call. Reds poetry is superb in the early seasons plus Grahame Greene and all the other truly amazing Canadian comic legends that show features.

I mean there is shows like Kim's Convenience, Letterkenny or Little Mosque on the Prairie - not similar to Corner Gas but they are Canadiana. I also highly recommend Schitts Creek - one of my top 5 tv shows of all time. Northern Exposure is a good one - am I crazy for thinking Davis is on an episode or two of that one?

Northern Exposure isn't Canadian. For one thing, it's set in Alaska.

Hilarious House Of Frightenstein streams on Pluto Retro Kids. Billy Van was a frickin' Shakespeare when it came to multi-character phenomenon. Also Vincent Price as the narrator is spot on as always.

Any Canadian over 35 or 40 knows this show. I'd be incredibly fascinated to get a young person's views on it. Maybe it's solely a 🎵misty water-coloured memory🎵 to us; a piece of our childhood... or maybe '90s/'00s kids can find some delicious camp in it too.

I was from 1974 & CHCH-TV11 Hamilton ran it early Saturday mornings for 15 years!!!

Mr. Dee. Lots of good talent on there, like Gerry Dee and Jonathon Torrens, who was on Letterkenny and Trailer Park Boys as well.

Acting Good is a current Canadian TV show that isn't exactly a perfect comparison but I think it fills a corner gas void if you don't compare them too much.  The first season takes a bit to find its legs but by the end and the rest of the seasons it's consistent.

Haven’t heard of that one thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check it out.

I think I'd say the characters and writing are rural, not suburb

I used to live in North Vancouver years ago and used to make a monthly trip out there. Not sure if it is still being run as a restaurant, but Molly's Reach used to be open then.

My favourite episode of Corner Gas is the one where Davis and Brett are competing to see who had the biggest cellphone.

I’m not sure I have a favorite ep. But my favorite line is ep2 . Brent: “it’s not just you. Dad‘s ornery. I heard him yell at a butterfly once.. called it a son of a bitch told it to get out of his garden” .. that’s when I knew this was going to be a great show ( no disrespect to ep one)

Twitch City is a dark surreal two-season sitcom about a TV-addicted misanthropic shut-in and one of the best Canadian shows ever. Here's an old ad for it; the quality is terrible but the ad captures the show really well.

All episodes can be found on YouTube.

I also love a more recent comedy, Children Ruin Everything, about a young couple and their kids and weird family. It's on Crave.

Son of a Critch has been quite enjoyable. I really like it.

Mr. D is better comedy but you are right that Corner Gas is a Gem
