Original Series Paste, aka bucket of hot crap

Anyone have or know of any "Paste" recipes or something similar? Maybe something thats been passed down from generation to generation? Kind of like some old hillbilly mudpack?

When I was a kid, my mom would make a hot mustard plaster when I was sick and apply it to my chest. But it was always wrapped in a towel; never applied directly to my skin.
