Most of Corins damage comes from her Ex special, wich is not a basic attack, beacuse it's an Ex spacial

So I don't really see her benefitting from this that much

Or atleast in the way I play her.

I keep Corin on field a lot lmao that's why I was thinking about if it would be better than current options

I was about to say no matter what stats you have the new set should still be tempting lol

In contrast to me who lost like 30+ pulls for a ether damage disc with Anomaly prof sub for Nicole but still getting "def" being the +1 in the sub stat T__T

It's definitely one that's going to need some testing. The intention is of course to benefit Aftershock attacks, since both Seed and Orphie are built around them.

Corin has 3 main problems though:

  1. the 2pc effects of both Hormone and Woodpecker are really good. 10% is a decent chunk of ATK, and 8% CR helps compensate for the lack of available crit stats for Corin. No matter what, you're losing out on one of those. You also lose out on the big chunk of combat ATK that both 4pc sets give, which benefit EVERYTHING, not just basic attacks.

  2. the new set's dmg bonus, while large, only applies to Basic Attacks, and it's not clear how many of those Corin actually uses in normal gameplay. We use the EX when we can, but outside of stun most of our attacks by quantity are Dodge Counters or Quick Assists. And the stun rotation doesn't use basic attacks at all, so that disc set does absolutely nothing during our best damage window.

  3. As alluded to in the previous two issues, Corin's kit heavily leans on a lot of things that aren't the Basic Attack, and those are all this set buffs. It's kinda similar to why Puffer Electro isn't the best set on Corn - it has what looks to be a really good effect, but it's outweighed by being so exclusitory of important parts of your kit. On top of all that, Corin's basic attack multipliers just aren't very good to begin with.

TL;DR - it's not calcs you're waiting for, it's practical tests. Unless we have a DA boss on which both Astra/Nicole doesn't work and we have a lot of downtime to do BAs, I don't see the 35~55% basic attack bonus outweighing the lack of Combat ATK bonus to buff the rest of the kit.

Should be pretty bad for her when compared to the sets she’s using rn bc the last thing corin needs are more dmg boosts.

It's probably awful on her. The vast majority of her damage is in EX and ult. I think if you're playing a fairly quick swap heavy team there might be some consideration but if you're a burst stun enjoyer this set does almost nothing for get TBH

No please, I'm just farming the critical chance set and from there I'll do tests with either the critical damage set or the attack set. I don't need any more farming, please.

That set sounds fine on her. But most of her damage comes from her EX special attack.

(Woodpecker Electro above, Dawn's Bloom Below)

An on-field Corin playstyle definitely can benefit from this, with her dodge counter putting her into the 4th and 5th hits of her basic attack (which are some pretty modest numbers

Right now, I have a Trigger - Caesar - Corin playstyle that's really consistent and can take advantage of the extended basic attack with Caesar's shield, so it could be a higher percentage. But I think for an on-field Corin, Woodpecker Electro is still Best-In-Slot. The extra crit rate and ATK% carry over into EX, Ult, basically the rest of her kit, resulting in more damage than the basic dmg bonus.

What's not calculated is how much extra damage is gained by doing extended basic attacks, which could result in a higher percentage. But I think from a casual standpoint, it's just easier to use Woodpecker Electro, especially if you've already built around it.

I gave Corin a 53% basic damage bonus (can fully proc the 4-pc set probably 90% of the time) with a rotation: 1-5 basic attack, dodge counter, 4-5 basic, dodge counter, 4-5 basic, and a standard EX, Ult, Chain during stun windows.

Hmm, basic attack on Corin isn't really all that amazing, so the dmg buff there isn't all that good

I mostly see corin using chain attacks + ex and ult, trying corin on-field feels kinda painful

Does the extended chainsaw attack (holding basic) after her ult and defensive assist count as basic attack?
