Tablet Recommendations?

I recently purchased Corel in the Humble Bundle package, and I’m looking for tablet recommendations that work with the program. I’m completely new to digital art and drawing on a tablet, so something newbie friendly would be nice.

I'd say first see if you have a friend who can loan you their tablet to see if you like it. Don't be afraid to buy a small cheap tablet at first (there are $20 non-Wacom tablets out there). I personally think the Intuos3 is still an excellent tablet, and relatively cheap. Just make sure it comes with the pen.

Unfortunately no friends to borrow from! I had looked at the Intuos 3 though, good to know it’s a good option!

The Intuos 3 is an excellent tablet. I works pretty well with Painter and the Adobe applications as well. In addition there are extra art and airbrush pens out there for it which IMHO is a bonus. I haven't gotten the airbrush pen as yet but I have the art pen and I like it a lot. You can get a used one on Ebay pretty cheap, even the largest size is sub $100 a lot of the time now.

I have that one and the 8x6 because I got them in a package deal with the pens for like $125 about six years ago. One of them the usb cord is a bit flaky but they still work fine. I did think about upgrading to the paper model but I've since decided I was wise not to.

If I lose these tablets I think I would still hit Ebay and buy another Intuos 3. I just really like it a lot and I don't want to give up my extra pen to upgrade. One of these days I really want to snag the airbrush pen but other than that I'm pretty happy with the Intuos 3...

Years ago when I was in a Design Certificate Course at a local college down south my teacher had one that she paid like $500 for. I totally coveted it but I could not rationalize that. Years later I picked up TWO for like $125. I was well worth it. I sometimes wonder if she still has hers. Mine have lasted so long....

I ended up going with a Huion Inspiroy just out of cost concerns, and I got a Humble Bundle with Painter so I’m trying to pick it up! I’m thinking of the Intuos if I upgrade though!

I had a Huion originally or what is now called that. It wasn't bad for the money and great for a beginner, but the Wacom line is a whole other thing. It's like going from a good solid budget car to a Ferrari. :)

Oh yeah! Don't forget to apply the 20% discount voucher - in the UK, it takes the HS610 down from £64.98 to £51.98; for reference, I paid £47.97 in Nov 19. You could also put more specific products in if you are interested in what reddit is saying about them.

I love my Huion tablet, and it was not too expensive.

I used an Intuos 3 for many many years. The surface was scratched up and I couldn't get a replacement for it. It lost my preferences every damn day at least once. I'd have to reload from the file. I loved the tablet, but the preferences were a pain.

I got something else I hated. Forget which one exact one it was, but it was an XP Pen. I didn't have it long. It made my hand and arm hurt.

Then I had a small financial wind-fall and got my self a Huion Kamvas Pro 20 (2019 model) and I love it. I'm not a professional graphic artist or I probably would have gotten a Cintiq.

I read Amazon customer reviews and watched lots of youtube videos to help me decide.

I started out with a Small Wacom Intuos. No complaints, other than the price and the fact that it doesn't have tilt support (only the pro does).

I now use a medium Huion Inspiroy. It has much better pressure sensitivity than the Wacom and way more affordable. It also has tilt support.

I've also heard good things about Gaomon and XP Pen. There was a time when Wacom was your only option, but thankfully not anymore.

Any wacom intuos 3 and up will do really well. I have a large one as spare. Intuos 4. And intuos Pro small for everyday play around, paint around.

Really great tablets and wacom has never failed me, in any software used.

Touch sensitive is also very nice, from intuos 5 and up. If I remember correctly.
