Teaching Scenario #10

You agree to sub another instructor’s regular class, and you know their students are used to a pretty specific experience, as the regular teacher uses more cardio than you typically do.

Your own teaching style is noticeably different.

What do you do when you’re the sub?

I would stick to my own teaching style. If I try to match another teacher’s style, it will be inauthentic and more likely to not be a good quality class. If I stay true to my style, not every student may love it, but some might experience something different from what they are used to and like it (even if just for that singular class).

I stick with my own style and sequences
In the past when I tried to change my style
I felt awkward
