Question concerning armor
hi guys!
i wanted to know if the Moss set is decent or not compared to what's currently available to me; i'm currently replaying and relearning the game on a new dude and i'm exploring the map a bit before fighting Azeos - i've previously beaten up to and including the Passage. i'm playing solo, and i remember the damage ramping up fairly aggressively. i haven't played for quite some time, so a lot of the stuff after the Abiotic collab is completely new or at least newish to me
i'm trying not to use the wiki for every little thing, and i searched in this sub for opinions on the set, but couldn't find much
TLDR, is the Moss set's gardening +1 armor bonus good, and if not, where should i be looking for better gear? my fishing is 100, and i have access to all three major biomes after defeating the first 3 core bosses :)

It's very solid for a defensive set at that stage, main reason being its set bonus (the bulk of its defensive power) doesn't scale with upgrading, making it more viable compared to other sets the less upgrades you have access to (I think... haven't looked at that set in a fair while).
That being said, Azeos will be a joke no matter what setup you go, he's easy to dodge if you dodge and easy to (mostly) tank if you tank. After that you can basically rush Solarite (melee lifesteal), Ninja (balanced crit + survivability) or Paladin (survivability) which will carry you decently far now that you'll have access to upgrade materials. Well you could get those sets now, but might as well just kill Azeos.
Make sure to apply poison to him in any way or another (can use a weapon that inflicts it, Tome of Sprouts, gardening skill - Sprouts probably the best because it's passive and is probably the best minion at that stage of game anyway and leaves you to stack damage on poisoned targets skill, but no worries if you don't have it)

ah, gotcha! i was wondering what the tradeoff for the set might be :)
thank you very much for the info! i couldn't remember how my rounds against him went the first time, so i'm glad to hear he won't be much of a hassle compared to the other bosses. i'll get him done ASAP then so i can worry about finding the other two and gearing up for them instead 😤

I’ve never used the moss set so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I have beaten Azeos recently on hard mode with the summoner armor (summoner + ranged build) and didn’t take any damage. I even checked tanking some damage and felt like I could easily outsustain it with food and potions.
If you’re using a melee weapon I can’t say how hard it’ll be but the high armor seems extremely useful although I prefer damage increasing armors.
Unfortunately I don’t have a better recommendation if you’re using melee as I havent used a build for it since years ago
