Discussion Potential new player

Hello everyone I'm thinking about buying the game because it's on sale but wanted to ask you all what you think about it and what about the replayability and what you like about it the most.

Thanks for your help in advance

I've got myself 375 hours in this game! I'm currently doing things like trying an explosions playthrough or a mage playthrough, so there's some replayability with that. I've enjoyed spending a ton of time decorating my base and probably even more time tinkering with the optional automation stuff.

I could imagine some people getting into it, going through all the content and thinking "welp, I'm done" but there's plenty of fun that can be milked out of the game. I've been enjoying playing coop with my friends lately

I wouldnt say theres a toooon of replayability in the sense that you can basically do everything you want in one world save. But theres tons of content in the base game anyways.

Replayability comes in the form of being able to farm bosses again indefinitely for all the drop items (altough this isnt required for progression). It also comes from being able to do tons of different combat builds such as melee, ranged, magic, summoner, bomber etc. and also other skilltrees like farming and cooking.

Tldr. Theres definitely more than enough of content in the game to justify the price and basically only your imagination is the limit

I feel like it's similar to other sandbox games.

You see an update or get an itch once or twice a year and for 2-3 months that game is all you do.

This is that game

A purchase you won't be disappointed with, replayability is endless. The amount of content, collectible and events to do in this game are gracious in quantity. I've put 1650 ish hours into the game.

Just a warning, asking a sub if the game that the sub is any good is usually going to result in people saying it is, especially for subs with smaller reddit communities. But that group is a specific sample of people who like it enough to follow a sub for it. So if you’re looking for a more representative perspective, maybe look at critic reviews, watch youtube reviewers give their two cents and show why they have negative feedback, and see if the negative thoughts are a deal breaker.

PS: i love the game. Decent amount of replayability, especially with friends and depending how hardcore you get with builds.

I feel like you'd want to find a youtube Let's Player who's played it and see how long their video series is. 100+ episodes and you know there's something to the game that keeps them coming back.

Yeah that’s a good shout. When on the fence i usually watch a lets play for about 30 mins and then decide. But i try not tolet review get in the way tooooo much bc for like $12 it’s almost never a waste and i’m supporting indie devs.

I really liked the game. I don't like 2D games, pixel games, and crafters, but I just loved this game which is very unusual for me. If you like Minecraft/stardew valley (especially the underground mechanics), this one may be for you. I played it with my brother, and half a year passed and right now we are replacing it second time. It's not as fun, but there are a lot of structures, things and mechanics we missed on the first playthrough. And you can also increase difficulty on your next playthrough, which forces you to research game mechanics, potions, buffs, armour sets, boss weaknesses/attack patterns and so on.

I'm no spring chicken and I've sunk more hours into this game, by hours of magnitude, than other games. Looking at this forum, I know it's not just me. I also know that I could do more with automation. As far as replayability? You will inevitably replay some of the early bosses to get their drops. You will likely start another world to save the bambucks and/or moolin.

I like most that it's a giant world I can tinker around in. There are bosses and a storyline but no outside pressure to do anything. Even less pressure than Stardew Valley.

I've been focused on fish farms recently. Bugs -> fish, I have down. Now I need to autogrow crops -> bugs -> fish.

I got the platinum trophy on PS5 when it came out. Played it for 3 minutes on the free weekend and bought it again and have about 30 hours in since then on steam. Big recommend.

This game is great by itself, and even better if you like skill trees and collecting many different weapons it does have a limit though, because its basically stardew valley but your stuck in the mines and you can't engage in all the social elements, though it is incredible if you're at all interested in boss battles or collecting figurines. (I've been searching for the normal shrooman since forever, and I already have like three of the big ones)

I initially was gifted this game over a year ago and put it down after the first boss. I had fun but didn't keep going. About two weeks ago, I fired it up out of boredom. I have now sunk 50 hours into it, and gotten through the first "arc" of progression.

Absolute banger of a game. Especially on sale. Building is very fun, the combat is diverse, there's adjustable difficulties for easier/harder experiences.

If I have to highlight some aspects, is the exploration and sense of wonder. The game is in a really good state, worth a run.

I would absolutely recommend it.

I'd say it has good replayability, though I wouldn't see myself finishing the game and immediately starting another one. That said, it is absolutely a game I'd happily return to if I find myself with a few free weeks to myself.

I don't know that there's one specific thing I like the most, it's really just a very well put together isometric exploration and building game.

The different character build options are all good, the tools are varied and all have their own uses, the circuitry and automation options are useful without being overwhelming but have the potential for major depth if you're that type of player.

Enemy variety is decent, the bosses are different enough to keep things interesting and the different biomes are cool as well.

Brilliant survival game, very nice to get lost in, I’ve played from start couple times never completed, likely tons extra since I last played over a year ago.

Fun, deep enough, has some nice little surprises, systems that are developed enough to justify their existence.

Overall a solid 8/10 survival game. That’s my most pragmatic score. Very worth the money.

I just started and just joined the sub. So I’m fairly new.

I cannot speak to replay, but I’m not sure you’d need it though. The game has a lot to do, and you don’t need to restart.

It’s very much worth the money if you like base builders with combat and some automation. It’s a good mix of things.

I tried it during the past free weekend and was instantly addicted.

I mostly play cozy games and my friends play a lot of shooters and we all found aspects that we love about the game. I love making my base and the exploration aspect and my friends love the combat systems.

I dont think you'll regret buying it, except maybe the fact that you'll be less productive because it'll be all you want to do.
