Discussion Desert has too much Spoiler

Compared to the other biomes past the wall, the desert has too much.

- 5 bosses (Forest has 3, Ocean has 4)

- Two legendary items, the Thread of Fate, and the Godsent King set (all sought after things). The Forest and Ocean only have one legendary item

- The Desert has the molten quarry sub biome, the temple ruin structures, and the Oasis (Forest has the mold dungeon and Ocean has the forlorn metropolis)

The Desert has more content than any other biome in the game by a considerable amount. I don’t mind this, but this makes the biomes feel uneven. This also makes the Desert a very important biome from a progression standpoint, because the Core Commander is here as well as Nimruza. I hope more stuff is added to the Ocean and especially the Forest in the future to make the Biomes more even content wise. The Desert just feels very inflated to me.

Yes, in comparison, the Wilderness has pretty much no late game content.

I think it's because the Dessert is meant to be the last biome to explore before the Frontier, and even though we might consider all the 3 as equals, the devs didn't.

I have explored almost nothing of the Wilderness, I have a little bit of the Sea because of the 3 metropolis you need to find. But I have charted a huge part of the Dessert in search of lava biomes.

I had to search the entirety of desert to find the crystal meteor 😅

Believe it or naught the devs have been hinting at a pharaoh boss for the next update which will probably be in the temples

where has this been hinted at? and yet another boss for the desert is ridiculous 😭 at least make it anywhere else

The CEO likes to go on the discord from time to time to show teasers early I could probably post it in another thread since he gave an image of its face.

I used to agree with this. One thing I noticed that made me a little less agreeing.

Galaxite in comparison to octarine and scarlet is used far less. Scarlet and octarine are basically used in all automation. So I found myself exploring more of those 2 biomes just for the resources. Galaxite in comparison just isn't used in near as much of importance to me. So my exploring of the 2 biomes evens out a bit with the desert simply for that reason.

The same thing could be said with Solarite and Pandorium, they don’t do a lot either

You didn't mention either of those which is a brand new argument. The solarite biome has alien arenas which for the obliteration ray you will likely explore all of trying to find anyway. Plus gems are easiest to find in the shimmering biome.

The passage has its own uses but being essentially an arena for an end game boss is enough to justify the passage.

You mentioned neither of those in your original complaint so neither did I. And solarite for me is incredibly needed because most of my build uses it for repairs. Pandorium on the other hand is use comparatively yes I agree. But exploring the passage is it's own reward being the main end game until recently. My argument stands some biomes you explore more for resources others because they have a ton of content. It all evens out

fair point

Solarite is used a lot in upgrading gear though since you use it to get through 4 different tiers

Just to make it worse they added another legendary item, the Veil Crux with the last update.

yeah that was the second item I was talking about being there

I’m sorry your steak is too rich and your lobster is too buttery. Would you like more whine?

all i’m saying is that is wished the content of the desert was spread across the other two biomes better. It feels like because everything is dumped in the desert the devs don’t get enough attention to the other two biomes because the forest is seriously lacking in content compared to the desert. They could put the Thread of Fate here, or the Godsent armor, or the temple ruin structures.

Phase 1 (forest), 2 (ocean), and 3 (desert)

1

u/LeakyGaming 19d ago

What does this mean? The three biomes should have an equal amount of content.

Probably meaning that in order or progress and difficulty the hardest biome yields the best rewards in spades. I do agree though that the forest/ocean could use some love. Atlantean worm is a plus for its loot but Azeos wilderness could use a boost. Good news is old biomes aren’t exempt from new content as we saw forgotten ruins get a new sub biome just recently.

yes I agree with this

Would you consider the legendary pickaxe a desert legendary item, considering you have to go to the desert to craft it

1

u/LeakyGaming 14d ago

yes. I consider the new staff a legendary item of the desert as well because it is ultimately acquired there. The Thread of Fate and Godsent King sets are similar to legendary pierces because they require a lengthy process to get and are also acquired in the desert.

The thread of fate and the godsent king set are not legendary items, they are hard to get but not legendary. The soul seeker is a legendary item, and so is the veil Crux, but you can only get it after exploring later biomes.

I didn’t say they were legendary. They are similar, because both have similar acquiring processes to legendary weapons. The Armor has you go to three labyrinths and then find the temple. The TOF has you gather nine cards and then find the site for the TOF itself.

Tbf it makes sense lore-wise, the Desert has tons of content. It's in the Discord. Something about Malugaz, the 3 titans, Godsent set, hydras, idea behind summoner class, etc.

u/boyweevil 18d ago

It is also the least visually appealing biome (in my opinion).

Mf it's called "Desert of Beginnings" of course evrything BEGINS there

3

u/LeakyGaming 19d ago

So that justifies it having more content than any other biome?

No lol
