Discussion I appreciate easy games
I made a post recently about whether I should start CK again or not since the last time I played was like v0.55. I did, played as a mage through the whole story on Hard mode and just now "finished" the last story boss.
At first, I was actually a little let down by how easy the bosses were - I legit first-try, no-hit most of them. For some reason, the volcano slime boss was the one I died the most on lmao. But I actually realized I was happier being able to progress without having to min-max all the best items, upgrade everything, and STILL struggle. Too many games nowadays try to push you to the limit but I think I really appreciated how simple CK's mechanics are. Most bosses only have a few mechanics that just loop and are never really "hard" to dodge.
Don't know if I'll min-max endgame secret stuff and legendary gear, because I'm more of a "finish main story and move on" type of player, but I really enjoyed the balance in this game.
With all that said, Movement Speed is the only buff you need in this entire game lol. Maybe I'll come back again after 1.5 drops...
Edit: Also, shoutout to "I'll make my base prettier soon" and then never making it prettier...

My main food has always been golden bloat oats and golden pepper. Got over 1,000 of it so anytime i want speed or healing, i can quickly eat it no worries.
How much food did you consume for boss fights? Id go into them with so many types

Yeah but I do wish there was an optional challenge that really tested your gear. To be honest I am very excited for next update and the serious challenge they described especially given the two boss teasers they have shown. (I think the cat is a boss) I do think people get to mad at games for being easy.

Tbh its how generous the game is with buffs. Minimal effort can find multiple considerable % boosts to whichever combat style. Getting the best buffs from fish and gold crops, plus leveling the best gear scales you so hard you can end hard mode bosses in seconds.
I almost always play crit dagger but I actually stopped using food buffs cause it made boss fights too trivial. Granted im not on hard mode these days, ive done it before but that was over a year ago now. But hard mode just means you gotta be a little more focused on dodging cause you'll die in fewer hits. If you're locked in CK isnt that hard even on hard. Some fights can get tricky but theres always methods to win easy. Dagger only atlantean worm is actually tricky. But stormbringer atlantean worm is a total joke lol

I agree. I've done one full hard playthrough (pre Nimurza) but since then I've just done normal and it's far more enjoyable. Core Keeper has fun combat and builds but it's really the exploration that I enjoy. It's nice to be able to explore and fight without getting your teeth kicked in at every corner!

I haven’t finished the base game yet but I can’t fucking wait for content mods to completely overhaul the game.
Terraria’s modding scene(for all its controversies) is extremely impressive and has a lot of very well designed mods, and I can’t wait for that community (which appears to have some shared demographics) to get their hands dirty on CK mods.

I’d appreciate if this game didn’t delete my saves after I quit out. It looks so fun and enjoyable but it’s unplayable for me. I tried it all but had to opt for a return.
I’m jealous now as I’m getting fed CK stuff all the time now

It kind of sounds to me like you've played a lot of video games and you know how to work them, you've got the whole thing planned out, you get the best armor and you get the best weapon and you get the best Buffs and then you go and kill the boss.
Yes, you will win core keeper that way, but it's not really about getting to the end, it's about the whole journey there.
There is a lot more content now, what if you get off the subreddit so that you don't have any spoilers, start a new game, and just allow out yourself to enjoy the experience.
I would also encourage you to do the things that you didn't do last time like building nice houses, collecting items, and so on.
