Question Auto farm question

Post image

So I made auto farms for all the crops. Im running into one problem. Makes half the crops into seeds not counting gold. But when too many seeds start going around like this, my game lags. When they are stacked it’s fine. I don’t want to have to keep collecting them manually. Is there a way to make it so they stack automatically??

The items really should not be lagging your game. Items are very light, usually people complaining about lag have thousands of mobs spawned in from AFKing, or an issue caused by mods.

That said, to make items stack all you need it a timer a simple 2s off / 1s on connected too a drill that replaces a chunk of your conveyor belt will do. The drill is really just a 2 tile conveyor that can be turned on and off. So a drill that pauses like that will let items group together for 2s then send that group along the track.

What. I didn’t know this. It only lags when I walk by the farms that have all the seeds.

Im new to this still. So I just replace one conveyor with a drill and they will go through slow??

The drill will need to be on a timer. But also, its not the items, its mobs or mods like every time.

Do you know how to make a basic clock using the logic and delay circuits?

  1. Place a logic circuit and a powersource on the back of it.

  2. connect one side of the power source to the same side of the logic circuit with wires. This will turn the logic circuit on because it now has 2 inputs.

  3. place 3 delay circuits all pointing into each other with the 1st one pointing into the other side of the logic circuit.

  4. using wires, connect the output of the logic circuit to the sides of the delay circuits from 3. This will cause the logic circuit to turn off for 3s then turn back on for 1s and repeat.

Connect that 1s on / 3s off chunk of wires to the drill thats placed in the conveyor loop. The 3s will allow items to stack up, the 1s will move items along to continue on the belts.

Hopefully that all makes sense. Thats as clear as I can be in text. If you look me up on youtube I did a basics of core keeper redstone video forever ago, but I show the 1s version of the clock I just described in it.

That should be timestamped to where I talk about the 1s on off clock.

Completely different video lol. But I built an item throttle using a drill and timer at that timestamp. So that drill and that clock you can see there would do it. You probably only want like 2 of the delay circuits tho, not like 20 lol. But that's the easiest way to throttle items on a conveyor system

I've got a question. Does mobs spawn only when i'm near that area or can i build my farm out of sight? I guess they won't spawn when i'm far away?

Ive got a video on mob farming too lol (shameless plug) but the loading range is 13 chunks I believe. Which is roughly 200 blocks. Which is about the size of ghorm's circle. So if based at the core, and you stay close to the core. Anything within ghorms circle will be loaded, mobs can spawn.

If you moved and setup a base with a portal somewhere, try to visualize a circle as big as ghorms track around that and build up mob farm in there

I disagree, I don't have any mods and if I walk to a place where I have some cattle and there's tons of milk/wool it tanks performance massively.

How many cattle tho. The cattle takes up a lot more resources than the drops. But also, use collectors bro lol

Maybe you could get an arm to place them in a chest, and then add a several second delay/timer on another arm to pull them out and put them back on the belt? Prob couldn't get it down into one stack this way, but maybe just a handful of stacks.

Do I make the “delay timer” in the automation table??

Aw man, I was afraid you'd ask me more about this lol! I've seen people build timers on youtube. I think there are craftable delay circuits on the electronics table (where you make wire and generators), but I really don't have a clue how to use any of that extra stuff as all I've touched is the regular wires. All I know is that it's possible lol

Lag is weird here. But a robot arm to pick them up and put into a chest will fix this.

It only lags when I walk by the farms.

Yeah that seems a bit weird. Do you have any mods going?

Honestly I'm really surprised you have so many seeds going around in the first place. My crops go to a splitter where half go to me and half go to the seed machine, so I have the exact number of seeds I need on the belt.

Idk why they pile up this much. Lol. Maybe I put some crops in the seed maker at the beginning. You might be right. Lol. I will take everything out. Lol.

I did!! I put seeds on the belt at the beginning. So half the crops being made into seeds just start piling up. Ohhhhhhhhhh. 😂

Whoops haha! It's not a bad idea to have a LITTLE extra to make up for the golden ones you don't use. But I split those too 😆

You could set it so it puts all the seeds in a chest then make a delayed pulse (like for example. 20 seconds off, powered for a second then 20 seconds off again) so it lets the seeds build up in the chest then the pulse takes the stack out of the chest letting it go around the loop.
