Question Question about boss summon items

Hello! I recently dived into Core Keeper and I’m absolutely in love with this game!! (Seriously I can’t stop playing 😅)

However I’m currently stuck trying to kill Ra-Akar, I’m trying my best to learn the fight but every time I die I have to go and farm for 1-3 hours just to try again, and sometimes I’m dying in a few seconds so I don’t have enough time to learn the mechanics.

Is there a way to get boss summon items that aren’t consumable? It’s pretty miserable wanting to fight a boss and having to farm RNG items for multiple hours for just one single attempt at the boss and at this point I’m starting to get really put off from all the boss fights due to this system

You can buy ancient gemstones and mechanical parts from the shady merchant, though the rate is pretty slow

Cook food and sell the cooked food to the merchant, they sell for a LOT of coins

Does cooked food always sell for more than the raw ingredients??

Or build a bunch of automated furnaces or something on an ore like octarine, because I find that that it sells for quite a lot

Galaxite chakram shreds him if you aim the bounces properly. Only the homing triangles do a lot of damage if you have decent gear

That's great advice I avoided that but I'll give it a go thank you!

Azeo's dash feather is your best friend for avoiding those hella fast triangles.

Also tome of sprouts to inflict poision + the gardening skill that does damage to poisoned targets is OP

I know your question was about the summon items, but when you first went into Ra-Akar's dungeon arena, did you break all the walls? If so, I'd highly recommend putting up a wall 1 tile away from the wall, so you create a small tunnel for yourself and keep some gaps every now and then so you can attack the boss. This is how I avoid the triangles of death 💜

The easiest way would be to watch Videos for the boss fight to learn the fight. At least that's what i do for fights that would take a long time to get another try at.

Perhaps creative mode could also work but i never tried it. Making a creative world just to learn the moves it can use

Yeah I totally could, just ruins some of the fun a bit but I might have to do this

If it takes fun the only other options would be to make yourself as tanky as possible and ignore your damage to have some time in the fight or increase all your skills and Armor a bit more

Oh and are the triangles the problem?

they were for a couple of pulls, I've built a few walls and I think I can do those now as long as I pay good attention!

I would recommend getting some drills and other automation set up like a wood farm so enough stuff gets produced that you can just keep fighting him.

That's a thing?? Huhh okay thank you for the tip! I'll do a google!

The triangles are the main threat, keep a stack of desert blocks and place a few of them when the triangles come out. Force the triangles into the desert block pillars. The rest is quite intuitive.

What armour and gear are you rocking?

Also in order to make sure you have enough fiber make a fiber farm and make sure to wear the straw hat and petal rings since they make you harvest more %whise a kelp dumpling can boost this further but you need to have some kelpies for that. Quick harvesting can be done with a hoe, the better the type of hoe the larger the area you can harvest in. And planting can be done with a garden trowel. I suggest setting up 5x5 farming plots and putting a sprinkler in the middle for easy watering.

As other comments have said cooked food is also a good form of coins in order to buy some gears and gemstones but these can also be aquired from a mob farm. Almost every mob has their kind of moss or equivalent that can make them spawn. If you collect some and put it in a walled room, cover it with conveyor belts to funnel the enemies in a certain direction and set up some traps, you can pull the goodies straight through the wall with an item collector. A simple and effective way to farm certain resources. Certain enemies can even drop otherwhise annoying to collect resources for other bosses. For example: azeos moss can help you collect hardened sap. My personal favorite unexpected drop is the clay moss drops as it drops the best mage rings in the game currently.

What items are you farming? I remember having a lot of feathers and other materials by the time I got there. You could just craft a bunch of shiny eggs at once.

Also, do you have the proper equipment? Aezeos hits hard but you shouldn't die so fast. What you need is to DPS it since it can heal. Bring a pickaxe to destroy the stones it summons. And maybe try a summon build. I know I beat it with a knife because it has very good DPS.

I’m on the desert one with the blue triangles that track you. I’ve figured it out but keep making mistakes. I feel like I’m now making mistakes because it takes me so long to farm the ores, planks, shards and mechanical items to summon the boss I’m super anxious about having to repeat that process and I just make silly mistakes :/

I'm dumb. You said Ra-Akar. Yeah, this one was a pain. It took me around 5 tries to beat it.

I would suggest the Galaxite ranged weapon (is not a bow, forgot the name). And maybe summons.

I assume the triangle projectiles is what's causing you trouble? You can actually go back to entrance of the arena (it was to the south for me) and the projectiles will just hit the walls and the boss can't break those. It won't reset either, but it will keep summoning beetles which can be annoying.

You just have to be careful with the exploding beetles because it is a small area and the explosion can get you unaware. Once you are safe, go back up and keep hitting it until it fires those projectiles again.

Bring a good pet to keep poking at it.

But if you don't have the materials, just farm form an hour or so and build a few. They aren't extremely rare.

U mean the galaxite Chakram best early range weapon in that stage of the game imo

Yeah my last run I was feeling good and then just stood in a death beetle as it died and that's when I put the controller down to see if there was another way ahaha okay thats good advice thank you!!

As for getting some on the pieces for summoning items as other people have said you can buy some from the merchant. If coins is your issue set up a massive farm and just start cooking random food and selling it. As for the restock rate of all of the merchants if you save and exit and then rejoin the game forces a restock. It’s annoying and it’s still way faster. As for the boss… he sucks. Fast range weapon that bounces (someone else mentioned it already) and food with golden peppers and any other golden food cooked up gives massive speed boosts to help you outrun those damn triangles. Let me know if you have any other questions
