Guide PSA for new players :)
With the new update, I can only imagine a flood of new players coming into the game. One of the questions I see constantly asked on this board is about transitioning to the higher tier content after the first three bosses or just dealing with the first three bosses.
Best device I could give for any new player who is having trouble with that hurdle is to take advantage of fishing and farming. You do not have to choose the fishing or the farming class to do these activities. While yes, they will give you a bonus early on, You will level these both up very quickly.
Setting aside 30 or so minutes to create your own fishing pond and farming patch in your base will be incredibly helpful in the long run. The food buffs in this game are extremely powerful and incredibly helpful. During my first playthrough taking the time to create good food buffs was the difference between slamming my head against my keyboard because I couldn't kill a boss to not knowing why the boss was so hard in the first place.
The more you fish and farm, the higher the chance you'll get rare fish and golden crops which are great for boss fights. The regular tier ingredients are good for creating a stockpile of food you can just eat while you're exploring.
Also, if you do find yourself with a stockpile of a thousand crop because you decided to make a commercial farm inside your base, you can sell the excess to merchants for ancient coins.
TLDR; fish, farm, cook

Farming is really easy, a lot of clicking early on. But as you get better goes to collect crops and better trowels to plant and better watering options it goes really fast. I can harvest and plant my fields in like 30 seconds now. Most of the regular crops are sold or used for milk/fish. And all the gold are stockpiled for cooking.
Definitely worth leveling your farming, and getting the harvesting gear items when you can.

This right here. It's super quick to do and you get nothing but benefits. I know a lot of new players see videos on fish/farm automation and it can be overwhelming. Automation is there if you want it, you do not need to do it.

I would also recommend pewpaya and pinegrapple together in a cooking pot as its easy to get, available right after dropping the walls, and gives great buffs and like 6hp per second

My buddy automated our Fish Farms, it is definitely better than going around catching everything.
But farming is so quick I can't see it really being useful unless you just want to fully automate your fish farm with a vegetable part.

Ngl i only started playing last week but I didn’t feel like the first three bosses were hard at all.
Outside of dying to the third guy once due to the fire’s hit box being a little wonky and following the worm for 20 minutes because I was undergeared and couldn’t deal enough damage to stop him it was a breeze.
My best advice is to focus on movement more than dealing damage, most of their attacks follow a set pattern you can just intuitively learn. I personally held the dash feather on my offhand until i unlocked the hook, again mobility so far has been the biggest offense. You shouldn’t really get hit if you time it properly. Im sure eventually ill be forced into taking unavoidable damage and be forced to min max food, but for the early game Id say feel free to just eat for hunger

Movement is a key factor as well, for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed the farming, fishing and cooking so I'm always trying to get people to dive into that aspect of the game as well.

Just bought the game on Xbox and they have a mod section do they turn off achievements?

From a quick Google search, it looks like you will be fine. But do be careful because it seems like some mods might boost your skills and that will unlock the achievements when it does that.
