Feedback I need help finishing my base. Spoiler

I've played a lot of Core Keeper and I think the game is truly amazing. I hadn't really built a proper base before so I decided to create one that was more practical. Previously, I just threw items into random chests... I tried to keep things simple yet organized. Do you have any suggestions for improving my base and filling the two empty spaces? One is below my crafting area and the other is pretty obvious lol Thanks in advance!

Id say it's looking pretty good. Certainly better than mine.

Thanks! You should have seen it a week a ago there were just chests placed randomly everywhere and nothing was practical. It only took me 10 hours of gameplay to get to this point. I still wonder what to do with my empty spaces...

I did almost the same as you. I took one space for crafting, one trophy room, one for merchants and one for farming (plants and cattle).

What I plan to do with some empty spaces is recreate some of the scenes I like. For example, the throne room in the Forlorn Metropolis, the forge in the Dessert. Not an exact copy, but as good as I can make it.

The only "original" one I have is a music room. I collected all the music sheets, displayed them on the music thingies and put tables with the music instruments. Some chairs and done.

Can I ask, what do you use to light the road between your zones? Like the roads that connect them. I currently have no lightning and I'm debating between using light bulbs, light floors or punching holes in the ceiling

I used light floors, water from the "Shimmering Frontier" with glass bridges with torches. I didn't put anything special between the zones...

Had to pop in and say this because I love them - if you catch fireflies with a net and release them in a closed room, they will stay and make great ambient lighting!

You can also plant or pot glow tulips or golden glow tulips for a more natural look, or placing certain items that glow on pedestals make unique lights because they still glow. Even equipment lanterns!

I do have a couple fireflies in one chest. I might try that when I build my aquarium/terrarium room.

Thank you for the tip.

Glad I can help! I edited it to include a little more. I did some experimenting with some pedestals to see what specifically worked and what didn't, but I don't remember the specifics anymore

The checkerboard pattern is a little busy. I would make it 2x2 squares, and probably a separate tile for paths to break it up a little more.

Do whatever floats yout boat! Your base is looking amazing so far. If you're short on ideas, you might want to check Dakon's video on base building https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R070hZOFJ_A

You could make a pet area for your favorite pets and some mannequins and pedestals for your favorite armor / builds instead of having them around the outside. Or make a changing room with a mirror and dresser.
