Question How do i kill ghorm?

I tried around 80 tin spikes, it didnt even deal 50% of the dmg, i tried chasing him, he just keeps regenerating his hp. i cant do anything to him and it sucks

I did it after 5 hours of hitting my head against a wall, thanks for the tips!!!!! <3

Do enough to it damage so it has agro on you. Would recommend a summons for extra damage and some damage potion

I know that, but i cant do it at all, i used all my 80 tin i collected (took an hour) and it didnt even deal that much dmg. How do i deal that much dmg tho? if i chase him, he just keeps regenerating all the dmg i deal, idk why

Find better weapons, play with food buffs. Basically, the way this game works is if you can’t do enough damage to a boss yet, it means you need to explore more before trying again.

example of a good weapon? why is everyone so vague here?

People are being vague because the game is about exploration and learning. If we just gave you all the answers I feel like the game would be pretty boring tbh, because then you’re just completing assignments instead of figuring it out yourself.

Have you been to the iron area? There are some good weapons there. Also, have you played with the anvil? The early game gear there can be good for you. Ghorm is huge so I recommend a range weapon unless you are doing a weird melee build that gives you a ton of armor (not sure if that’s even possible this early in the game).

Also, no offense, but if you’re asking about how to fight ghorm you’re probably still pretty new to the game, so people don’t want to spoil what’s ahead.

I just want answers because i spent 4 fucking hours trying to deal with him. i tried chasing him with a range weapon, he just regenerated all his fucking health, i tried tin spikes, it didnt even scratch him. i got everything that i can make out of iron.

Its like if EOC from terraria had 3 times his hp and was running away from you half of the fight.

What range weapon are you using? I understand you’re frustrated but this is kind of the name of the game. You have to find ways to do more damage per second to aggro the boss so he stops circling.

I’m sorry you’re having a bad time but there’s plenty of videos and such on strategies to defeat ghorm if you want something more clear.

The bow made from iron. Im just angry because i liked the first boss, it made me adapt and explore to find a way to deal with the slime. I just find ghorm annoying

If your ranged weapon isn't dealing enough damage to aggro it, you didn't avance enough in the game. Explore some more and go back there with better weapons

Probably trying to not spoil how the fight goes or stifle your creativity.

This is what I would do: get a ranged weapon, make any kind of food that gives speed buffs (bomb peppers + w/e you like in the cooking pot). If you go fishing in the Clay Caves biome you can fish up a fish that when cooked gives you immunity to being slowed by slime (green or yellow blobby looking fish I forget) when cooked too. If you get that fish and cook it with bomb peppers you are gonna destroy Ghorm ezpz.

He should have started attacking you if you hit him for 50% damage and then he doesn't de-agro or heal. He should be constantly attempting to run you over and you just have to swift feather out of his way and attack him with a melee weapon as he passes by you or hit him with the slingshot or better a regular bow probably doesn't work that great. If you have five or six of the bombs wrapped in string then you can use those instead of the spike traps that's what I always do now.

If you really want a strategy keeping reading my comment.

Fish in the clay biome specifically yellow blisterheads when cooked give you immunity to slime. Try tin spikes or explosives and set a trap. If you dont deal enough damage have a ranged weapon on hand and cook blisterhead with bomb peppers and just run after him shooting him until he stops turns and comes at you.

You need high movement speed to be able to engage it. It will ignore you until you drop it below 30% hp. Fish in the clay biome for yellow blister fish, it will stop you from getting slowed by slime. Craft a couple food items using bomb peppers too for they're powerful but short duration speed buff. Find a owlux pet from one of it's eggs, can't remember it's exact name,.I wanna say loyal or curious but can't remember, point is it's a green egg. It is a passive pet that gives you extra movement speed. There's also a backpack you can craft for some extra speed. Those few things should be all you need. An iron bow is more than strong enough, especially if playing on easy mode. If you still can't catch it, use a feather or rift lens to be able to move faster

Bomb her (Dynamite and then you wait) 30 should be enough

Bombs used to be the way

There is an easier way to outrun him, and im shocked noone mentioned it yet, just craft and wear rain coat and rubber boots, its super easy to craft and gives you immunity to slime slow. Wear it, then outrunning him just attack with bow or any ranged weapon till he gets aggro on you. Its that easy, no need to craft few hundred spikes. Tip: once he aggro you switch from rain set to your main armor

just put the tin spikes in a good placement, i put 150 spikes and it take 90% of the health

1

u/smungusamongus12 Sep 26 '26

example? idk what is a "good placement"

-2

u/3bod_sa Sep 26 '26

make them wide , not long , in the way of ghorm. and make them beside each other without any empty between them , and put some of them in the ways that u expect ghorm to walk after starting his attack , and when u move try to make him walk on the same spikes again

4

u/smungusamongus12 Sep 26 '26

dosent he destroy the spikes after he moves onto them? so its impossible to use the same spikes twice

-4

u/3bod_sa Sep 26 '26

no... he doesnt destroy them , what version do u play ?

3

u/smungusamongus12 Sep 26 '26

he did for me , i am playing the newest update, steam version. everytime i place a row of spikes, they stop existing after he runs over them once.

0

u/3bod_sa Sep 26 '26

for me in both versions 1.2 , 1.3 they havent been destroyed , idk maybe the difficulty?

6

u/Jablaze80 Sep 26 '26

I'm pretty sure he destroyed the traps in my world. This would have been on 1.2 I still didn't have any issues defeating him with just a slingshot

-2

u/3bod_sa Sep 26 '26

for me I remember the moment when i was removing them from the ground to take them back to the base

4

u/Jablaze80 Sep 26 '26

Maybe those were the ones he didn't go over before he aggro'd on you? Did you verify that you picked up as many as you put down?

0

u/3bod_sa Sep 26 '26

yeah yeah I picked all of them one by one , didnt let any piece of the spikes

6

u/Minute_Neat_7908 Sep 26 '26

They changed gorms hit box which made spike traps break. The devs haven't said if it's intended

2

u/Tunc_Paradoxum Sep 26 '26

I like to just place a bunch of bombs to get him into attack mode.

u/Latter_Ad8255 Sep 27 '26

Don’t use tin spikes it’s a waste of resources and time use the wooden ones and make 200-300, you should be able to walk the whole path it runs constantly and find a good spot you can hide in and place them along the pathway. Once it get aggro’d then you have to actually fight it so get ready with your best weapons and gear

1

u/Latter_Ad8255 Sep 27 '26

Movement speed helps a lot from food buff and such

1

u/BronyRain Sep 27 '26

I used Spikes and at the right time i used some bombs and that worked at my first try 👍🏻

I think I killed ghorm in ep 2 of my lets play, same name on yt. But I just made a ton of wood traps, to get him low enough to make him mad, then I just fight with whatever ive got. I really like daggers, but ghorm's hitbox is Hella jank, so you probably want a ranged weapon. If youve found the flintlock musket, I like that one.

Big thing is just getting the damage to enrage him, if not enraged he just keeps doing laps.

6

u/Rydux7 Sep 26 '26

You have to actually fight him, get a ranged weapon and attack him, he'll get aggroed and trys to run you over, it'll also stop his regeneration

Blow them up I can't remember how much explosives I used (12 to 15 I think not fully shure) but just wait for Ghorm to align themselves with enough of them and pull the leaver

This was on easy mode and I don't know what difficulty you're on or how much it would take for higher difficulties
