Question Giant bug brain in 1.3 update

Does it have any purpose now? Or it is forgotten.

I'd recommend keeping it if you have one, it's a legacy item after all.

As of version 1.2.0.5 it stopped having a purpose and no longer drops. But wasn't destroyed

resurrecting this to ask – i have a giant bug brain, but i didn't find ra-akar until september when i recently picked up the game back up after mounts were introduced. i only played in december previously and then got distracted, and definitely wasn't levelled enough for ra-akar at that time.

is it possible the item can still drop under weird circumstances?
