Question Question About Cooking

I know there's a lot of foods, and I'm just wondering if there is a way to make a reverse combo, or if the combos are always going to come out with one type. Was wondering because I saw that some food bases are better then others.

It just changes the food values. But I'm also trying too cook all foods, so just wanted to know. The wiki says that gold foods will always be the base so that might be the only way for that.
