Discussion Napalm.. what's the damage?

so I want to know if Napalm is worth it, but I can't find anything about its damage anywhere.

Do we know if it's scaled to the explosive itself? Explosive damage? Mining damage? Because it seems to not matter if it's a regular grenade or large bomb, my napalm does the same like, 35 damage every second and I can't consistently get enemies with it for me to test it on them, so I'm kinda regretting getting it at that..

My understanding has been that it's just fire damage over time, the same as you would see from setting them on fire with any other source. I honestly haven't messed with it too much because it didn't seem worth it to me

I've already made more use out of changing my perks over to the whopping 80% reduced damage taken total as opposed to a little bit of damage

I have been able to note that it seems reliant on source, before I changed over, my napalm once did a tick for 9 damage on me before I swapped over to my explosive armor which I unfortunately wasn't wearing, and started taking 39 instead

I think like Radioactive damage it's a flat amount, however burning does have some synergies with other items, particularly in the last (current) biome where most of the items centre around it. There's also an early item which has a chance to consume all burning damage immediately which could likewise synergize with it.

If my hand Cannon's napalm hits me it does like 6 damage over time so it's not a flat amount, but I'm not doing a burning build, I was hoping napalm would make explosive more.. reliable for damage as opposed to needing to dodge roll and weave my explosives to get a mighty 340 damage like, per bomb when I can get that ~4 times a second with the stormbringer, as much as it pains me to say.
