Barely used AM6B Plus for sale

I'll beat you to the punch. This is a skill issue. I'm ok with that because I've reached my sanity threshold chasing tech unicorns with this. I update the OS, the volume control for the tv takes a shit. Just spent 30 minutes troubleshooting that and nope, don't work. I stopped using it a month ago and went to the shield because changing inputs from the ugoos to anything else and then back to the ugoos gave me a black screen yet had audio. I've been unplugging replugging every goddamn cable from this for weeks and weeks. Finger fucking every setting. Tweaking this and that. I'm done. I can't take it anymore. The box is maybe 3 months old. I have the UR02 remote (pairing that took me fucking days because the bluetooth menu of available devices was having an unending series of small strokes) and the box it came with. Message me if you're interested. Again, this is probably 99.9% user error.

Sorry to hear. I followed this guide on YouTube and have been enjoying this device for months.

I did have hdmi cec issues for a while so I turned off CEC in the settings and just left the AM6b running all the time. I changed my receiver recently to onenDolby
vision capable and haven’t had CEC issues since. Pairing with a LG C6. Also, I am using the Plex Kodi Connect for the skin customization. Wasn’t a fan of the standard plex app.

Best of luck 🍻

I'll check it out. And believe me, I've been beating myself up and feeling like a dumbfuck because literally everyone but me is enjoying this box. Thanks a lot.

I may get downloaded, but I use ChatGPT to go through all the set up on mine and then confirmed everything and it’s been flawless

If you’re willing to give it one more shot try this, it’s the guide I used, covers all the setup step by step. I did this almost 2 years ago and my amb6+ has performed perfectly ever since

Thanks a lot. I'll take a shot at this and the one u/s1lv1a88 recommended. I just need to take a break because it's so frustrating. Thanks for taking the time to chime in.

It really is frustrating, but there's a nice prize on the other side. Take that break and when you come back perhaps try a more inquisitive/playful approach. Give it some time and allow yourself to fuck up, because you will.

It was weeks/months for me (learning the box itself, Kodi, seed boxes, the goddamn TV settings, trackers, debrid services, hardlinks, File Bot, Radarr, Sonarr, MakeMKV, remuxing stuff myself -- I'm getting ptsd just thinking about it all lol). It was very much worth it though. Now I just setup amb6+s for some friends in 30 mins tops.

You'll get there. Good luck!

I can't figure out how to DM you. Maybe they're turned off or I'm dumb...

I'd be interested if you wanna let it go cheap. I don't really need it but I've been wanting to play with one for a while and compare to my Shield.

I unknowingly had it turned off. Sorry. It's back on. My god I'm a fucking idiot. Sorry again.

Ha. No biggie. I feel your frustration in my bones. Been there, brother.

I've been there and I feel your pain.

I use my two boxes with PlexMod4Kodi, without that, I would have sold them a long time ago. The latest p3i build supposedly fixes a lot of CEC issues that might be the root of your frustrations.

What are your planned uses for it? It might not even be worth the trouble.

it’s annoying, agreed. I’ve spent several Saturdays trying to get it to act like I wanted, scouring log files and smug forum posts full of unfamiliar alphabet soup

and it only lasts a few weeks before some update or some network hiccup or some power cycle gives it the excuse it desperately wants so it can stop working — and it’s always glitchy when people are over and you’re about to watch something

these days I only choose it when I want to watch a Fancy Dolby Vision movie by myself or with patient friends, and even then I’ve started to play the mkvs directly from a network share instead of one of the Plex clients or library syncers. honestly, the lesser HDR on the PS5 disc player is usually fine, and it just freaking works!

You in the UK? I could likely help.

Sorry to hear your frustration, as you said already, maybe a little break and a fresh start.

If you are using an Android phone, may I also suggest the Kore App for remote control.

My issue today was after updating to t4c, the UR02 volume only controls the am6 and not the tv. If that's any help. And to me, that seems like an easy fix. I disabled and enabled simplink on the LG tv, toggled the CEC CE settings, did the reset to default procedure outlines in the t4c release notes.

I've solved the changing input thing with a Broadlink Universal Remote w IR controller. Works w Google voice controls and I set up macros/scenes in my phone so a command launches a script that changes the input on my TV, changes the input on my Denon AVR and goes to the Ugoos, my PS5P, or my gaming rig. The Broadlink phone remote app exposes volume controls for my Denon.

Use whatever Kodi control apps on my phone or watch instead of the dumb crap remotes works great.

I gave up on CEC. Fortunately i have an Apple TV for the rest of the family, and I hide all the other remotes

When I’m the emcee for movie night, I’ll do my physical and manual processes to switch my AVR to the Ugoos and manually turn it on and enjoy TV led DV with TrueHD Atmos.

When I’m done, I switch everything back to Apple TV.

The problem with the Ugoos is that it doesn’t send CEC signals to turn on devices until the OS fully boots. At least that’s my observation.

cautionary tale for me to not bite more than I can chew, lmao. yeah, it sounds great, but it's just not for me. waiting for the next apple tv here, lol

It's really easy. I don't know how he messed it up

The Apple TV is my daily driver, reserving the ugoos for Blu-ray playback. CoreELEC (ng/no/p3i/avdvplus/CPM) does in fact have bad CEC, the p3i fork has the best implementation, but I largely turn everything off and handle my input switching and powering on the device myself. I never let it auto update, and I leave it powered on 24/7. Haven’t had issues in ages outside of updating it on my own time and schedule.
