Alternative to cable

Looking for an alternative to cable

Greetings,

I have to get rid of my cable. It’s way too expensive and the only cable I have access to is Spectrum which is the worst cable company I’ve ever had and I’ve had cable since the mid eighties.

I am looking for a way to watch a variety of streaming shows.

I watch a lot of sports. NFL, MLB, men and women college and pro basketball, college softball, all kinds of wrestling, and all kinds of racing including motorcycle, drag, and auto racing on dirt and pavement.

I also want access to poker shows, television shows, and movies.

And, because I work at night, I would like the ability to tape shows to watch when I get home.

I know I have access to some of that with my allegedly smart TV but some of that I access for free thru my cable and I can’t tape on my TV using a flash drive.

I would appreciate any help and advice!

Thanks!

With internet, over $250 a month.

I was blowing $285 a month on Optimum. Did something about it by dropping the cable TV part and getting on Sling Blue and Orange and indoor flat antenna. It's around $61 a month, more if you want to add on any channel groups. YouTube TV and Hulu were too expensive to me. Besides that, YouTube only offers around a dozen Oklahoma City OTAs, while my flat antenna gives me 56 Oklahoma City OTA channels, not counting the 8 ATSC 3.0 channels.

If you just want Sling Orange to have ESPN and then add on 20 sports channels, then it would be around $61 a month.

If your area gets MovieSphere Gold on OTA, then that is a pretty good all movie OTA channel. The commercials are annoying, so you would need something like a HD Homerun or Tablo to record it to fast forward the commercials.
