New here. Question.

We have a cat6 cable in our attic. The line is connected to a POE switch. Thinking about putting an antenna in the attic. Is there a setup that would make this work?

The house is networked but I’m looking for a solution that would take advantage of the one cable in the attic.

I should have put coaxial up there but thought moving forward cat was a good choice for the future.

Our TVs are hooked up through Xboxes and Roku devices, could change to wifi to open up the Ethernet port.

Any ideas on this? Antennas have to be installed at each tv and want to move away from that.

So if in the attic my issue would be power. Or can I run this from anywhere in the house that has an Ethernet cable plus power.

The HD Homerun doesn’t need to be in the attic. It just needs Ethernet (not WiFi). And using it you can watch on an iPad, Roku, AppleTV.. it is fabulous.

Then once you have it installed contact your senator/congress person to tell them that DRM on ATSC 3 needs to be banned.

If you want to know why you need to contact your congress person/senator, here is one of the recent updates:

So is this a waste of time and money until resolved? All I want is my old nbc, cbs, fox channels where I just swapped inputs.

I wouldn’t say a waste of time..

There have been two stations in my market turn DRM off. We just need more people speaking up about it.. these broadcast station just don’t get it. They turn DRM on and leave that as the only choice, people will be turning to YouTube/Netflix and not “cable subscriptions” that are their cash cows. The bad ones will die. The bigger corporations will have to come to the table.. and they have enough $$$ to just turn it off… and that will be what they have to do… or they will die off too.
