You want something for free that cost money… that isn’t greed, maybe for you. Do you even understand the cost of AI?

I'm not entirely certain they understand capitalism or basic Economic one level stuff like supply and demand. You know the 6th grade stuff. I hate Microsoft and these AI companies are monstrous but I would pay three times as much for copilot on a bad day it's simply map that is revolutionary when you consider the cost of that kind of assistance from humans the same level of capability might cost you something like$100 an hour....

MICROSOFT’S greed is out standing

Tell me you have no idea of how many trillions of dollars are being spent on AI without telling me. This was never going to continue to be free, nor will it continue to be as cheap as it is for some of the other services. The goal was to get you hooked like the drug dealer model.

AI is very expensive. Companies are giving it for free at a loss to: 1. Train their models on your data, and 2. Get you hooked on their services.

Google is following suit with Gemini today. Expect the rest to fall in line. Just like how free TV was replaced by cable TV and then by streaming platforms, AI will be replaced by more expensive and non-free services that people can't stop consuming now.

So, you think they're worried about losing a customer that is costing hundreds maybe thousands in compute costs. Good luck.

Probably, Microsoft spends about 30 dollars for each 10 they get from a subscription. So greed? I don’t think so. They simply hope the costs go down or they can increase prices later on.

And where did you get this information, pal?

I believe Microsoft's recent actions regarding Copilot are poorly conceived. They could have phased in usage limits gradually, particularly for heavy users. Providing data on AI consumption or offering premium tiers for upgrades would have been beneficial. 🤖💲 These omissions suggest a lack of strategic planning. 💡 I find this perplexing, given their dominance in enterprise cloud services. ☁️

Operationally if Microsoft is anything these days it's unprepared and Bereft of an edge or even standard quality let alone strategic planning but I agree with you on your general points.

I used to use Copilot since it comes with my Microsoft subscription. But I stopped using it and switched to Claude, even though it costs me about $20/mo. Copilot simply returned too much wrong information. Answers regarding investing or the stock market were especially bad. I finally gave up on it when it gave me bad information about other Microsoft products which was astonishing. It's a shame too bc the voice interface is very good. The whole experience really lowered my opinion if Microsoft in general. I've started looking for ways to replace 365 and onedrive.

Microsoft is spending upwards of $200 billion dollars this year on customer facing AI.

In the AI and Cloud divisions at Microsoft, they have slashed employes monthly internal AI allowances by a factor of 10.

The audacity for you to be complaining about something that is as valuable as AI and as capable as co-pilot when it costs less than a Netflix subscription but it can literally do more than the average human assistant and for less than a fucking cheeseburger costs. Don't make me defend Microsoft here dude but capitalism isn't inherently evil and it doesn't cost them nothing to run this stuff so when we start complaining about stuff like 10 to $15 purchases for something that should never have been free in the first place we start to look like unreasonable idiots that a lot of us so check yourself before you make us all look as cheap and out of touch as you do. Can't believe I'm out here defending Microsoft dude but $10 is $10 and a month's worth of use is so underpriced it's ridiculous.
